When I arrived there was only dim lighting where you check in. I went in & rang the buzzer as I did. Waited, went back and rang the buzzer again. Waited, rang the buzzer 3 times. Waited, rang it 4 times. There were 2 doors marked private at the office. I could hear a tv blaring from the side one. I did an online search for the place and called the number. It was just a reservation line. Then at the side of the desk, I noticed a sign with a number to call for assistance. It was not placed so people coming in would see it, but sideways with stuff sitting around it. I called and a lady answered. She said she would be out in a minute. Took her several minutes. She could not find my reservation and just sat there staring at the screen. I decided to run down the street to a gas station to grab something to eat and use the restroom. When I got back, she had found my reservation and turned the lights on. She was friendly, and met me at my room to show me how to use their key. The room! There are room cards, receipts, and a lug nut in the nightstand. On top of the microwave was a newspaper a month old. The refrigerator/freezer was disgusting! There was no remote or trash can. There were holes in the towels, I could put my fingers through and think I was checking for dilation. The bed was uncomfortable. I had to figure out how to lay so I did not feel like I was falling off. I stay in cheap motels all the time and the towels & bed could be accepted for the price, but not the rest.

This motel is in need of a serious updating. If you just need a place to sleep over night at a fairly low cost you might use their facility.

First room door lock wouldn’t let me exit. Moved to another room, dead bolt wouldn’t close on second room .Had to flush toilet 7 times to evacuate contents. Poor lighting. Very dated rooms. Simple coat of paint, remove swag lamps that have been disconnected. Replace carpet.

No matter how cheap the price it's not worth it

The Hillcrest Hotel needs a lot of work. The condition of the bathroom in our unit was appalling dirt crusted almost everywhere mold on tile just really bad. Carpet stained and in need of replacing. The property offered no ice and no coffee in the morning. I feel like I was partly misled by the good reviews – who doesn't like a value. Do yourself a favor keep driving there was nothing wrong with the Help, but some serious money needs to be invested in this property.
