The room was like a sauna, the whole floor was sweltering, fans provided but just moved hot air around. I think maybe next to boiler room as not in sunshine, so not sure why otherwise. 1 tiny window that was old and wouldnt stay open. Couldnt stay in room for longer than 5 minutes as just too hot, even coming in to get changed we would be dripping with sweat Not the relaxing spa break we'd paid for. Would definitely not recommend!

The room was awful, thread bare carpet, ripped bedsheets, complimentary milk was out of date, mould in the bathroom as there was no ventilation (no extractor fan and the window didnt open). Im sure other parts of the hotel must be nice, but the room i was given was awful.

It was very noisy. There were loud parties every night until the small hours so it was hard to sleep. When you wanted to open the windows to get fresh air, you couldn't because of the safety catches. There were no herb teas on offer in the bedrooms as there is in most hotels these days. The decor was dark and gloomy. There were lots of stairs to go up and down on the way to your room and no lift, which is difficult for 80 year olds. The food was very uninspiring.

Avoid this hotel if you want to stay in a room with no window, the food was inedible and overpriced, the staff were slow and incapable and the pool changing rooms need a good clean.

Small dirty and noisy room

The room was extremely small (see photos). There's barely any space between the bed and the desk. Same tale with the toilet which is way too close to the bathroom door. The bathroom was also quite dirty with mould all around the shower. The worse thing though was the noise, probably one of the worst nights I've had in a while. I could hear everyone coming in or out of the building as my bedroom door was right next to the door leading to the stairs.

This is fourth time I’ve stayed here and it gets worse every time. The location is great and the grounds pretty but the rooms are shabby and neglected. Chipped coffee table with rings and stains. Worn scratchy towels and bedding. Windows that are stuck in one place, dusty net curtains. I was staying for seven nights, requested housekeeping after four days , no one ever came. I went down got sheets and towels and bought cleaning stuff for bathroom. When I went down and asked about it the second time , they said they were very busy. Staff were not very welcoming and I never saw a smile from them even though we were very excited to be staying as had flown over from the USA. Golf shop were helpful and friendly.
