Ok for a short stay

Very mediocre stay. We had young children. The pool costs to use it which isnt clear on hotels.com. Staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The room was clean but very outdated. The bathroom definitely needed a bit of tlc but had a random new floor. It felt more aimed at coach parties going for a night out.

Expensive for what it is. Cheap flimsy plastic glasses in room. Bathroom extractor and TV not working on first night. Reported faults to reception next morning. Came back at night extractor still not working, TV had only 1 channel, with no update from staff/reception. 3 night stay, room would not be serviced. Could not book anything to the room, evening meal required a trip to reception to buy a voucher, glass of wine with the meal required me to get up from the table, go to the bar and pay by card (no cash accepted and could not charge to room) before returning to my meal with the drink. Anything you wanted you had to go and sort it out yourself, all staff seemed unwilling to do anything to help you. Had a better stay in a Premier Inn last weekend. At least they gave you a proper glass in the room. Plus I was staying in a so called Executive Room, normal rooms could only be worse.

My room that I had checked into at 9.00 am in the morning I was told on arrival that they were full and room not available staff did not want to help just advising sorry there is nothing we can do. No booking in at a local property no compensation nothing after having driven over an hour. Terrible service.

We loved our 2 night stay here. Staff were lovely when engaged with, however not particularly proactive if thry could see people struggling. Attended with a wheelchair user, was difficult to navigate round the hotel to find the wheelchair accessible routes. Simple.solution would be to draw a blue line on the wall mounted maps to show the flat access. Once in the resturant all the food is on the upper layer - no ramp access and no staff willing to help - other than removing a dining chair. Left juggling 2 plates of hot food. Food selection was good with plenty of choices. Vegetarian and meat, plenty of veg and salad. Room was clean, newly fitted bathroom - shame there wasn't a bath mat to keep the floor dry. Lack of plug sockets in the room - will bring an extension lead next time.

Was disapointed that the gym had an additional charge that was not clearly dtated at the time of booking. Whilst the area was really beautiful the hotel was a bit outdated.

The place itself was ok and nothing wrong with the staff working there, but I think the outside grounds sells it. Inside the room it was dated, needed a lick of paint. The furniture was not the best. I think generally ok but as the old saying goes, “all for coat and no knickers”

Very much not as nice as it looks.

This hotel looks so nice but the reality is different. From the moment I booked, and the three ‘Urgent’ Emails insisting I check in online, to the awful dinner (a poor buffet, unlabelled with allergens reluctantly and grumpily grunted by the chef, and no table service for drinks) and throughout this place disappointed me.

Bed was un comfy, woman on reception nearly gave me a heart attack when she said it wasnt paid for and that i had to make a payment there and then… until she realised she was mistaken. Breakfast… 5 mouth fulls of food… everything had a twang too it. Scrambled eggs were awful. Room was clean. Very noisy on as guests above moving around… awful floor boards. Hotel its self was clean and nice.

The little village ares around was beautiful and lots of places to eat and drink .hotel room small but had everything you needed but the food in the restaurant was average quality but poor selection of food and only water on the evening, no tea or coffee.breakfast was slightly burnt.would stay at hotel again because grounds where lovely bit would not eat in there again
