Woul definitely recommend anyone visiting Cape Breton island. A good base to explore Cabot trail, just minutes away. Very scenic views by the lake. Staff is very cooperative. Especially the owner made sure everyone is getting a warm welcome. Breakfast was topnotch with a variety of food.

The Trailsman was an excellent place to stay. Check in was smooth. The staff are very helpful. The continental breakfast has both hot and cold choices. The woman serving breakfast is very good at her job. The view of the lake from the deck off the room is beautiful.

If you wanted to use the swimming pool, it was closed. One had to be very careful walking the grounds, Canada geese were depositing droppings all over. On the other hand a continental breakfast was advertised but it was a full hot breakfast.

Too much noise because other guests were having a party at our patio and the rooms next to us. Towels were not very clean and the hotel was very outdated. Not worth the price! Basic breakfast.

We loved this quiet clean room with its great view. The deck chairs were bright and comfortable. We knew it was off-season so didn't expect the pool but would have appreciated knowing the complimentary breakfast wasn't yet available.
