Right on the water right next to the bay it’s beautiful, beautiful place to walk and see and lots of seafood to eat and the liquor stores nearby vape stores nearby. Everything is nearby.

Last minute trip to Oakland. The plus of Jack London Inn are their rates. However, you absolutely get what you pay for. The receptionist gave us attitude, the rooms are in need of a makeover, bathrooms have mold, and there is no ac in the units, with the windows aren’t operable. Oh, it’s been a week and deposits haven’t been returned. Great price not so good of service.

Extremely surprised Expedia even has this establishment on their website. It is extremely rundown and scary. We arrived and waited a great while for receptionist to try and find a room for a gentleman who came in after us. Apparently they were all booked but he was a regular customer so they were trying hard to accommodate him. When he finally got to us, he said they had no more rooms left. I mentioned I had a reservation and he said he only had a room with no heater but he could give us an extra blanket. It was late so we took the room. We ran out as soon as we got up the next morning. The room size was good and the bathroom was clean but the entire place is extremely rundown and old. Hallways are dark and seem unsafe as “security “ roamed the hallways. The reception area had extension cords coming out of a broken glass door. There was a woman in the lobby speaking with attendant as if she was clearly a regular there and she was scantily dressed on a very cold night; very clearly an escort demeanor and all. Definitely not a place for families and would never rebook a stay there

The breakfast was horrible! The staff was nice tho. Hotels.com is horrible. The hotel couldn’t find my reservation and i had to call and find out why. It was a nice hotel but a little scary. I might stay there again and i would recommend to ppl staying short stays.

Hotel is tired, needs a renovation. Old dated bathrooms. Towels were old and worn. Bed was adequate. Quite a bit of cigarette smoke drifting in the room. It could be a really great hotel with upgrade. Staff was nice
