This hotel exceeded our expectations. The service was unparalleled. You’ll receive a delicious complimentary drink upon arrival and be greeted by the house manager who takes the time to answer all questions and take you through the property. The property is WOW. Only a small number of rooms set in an exquisitely decorated house. The rooms are spacious and modern. There are molten brown toiletries, beautiful sheets and a very comfy bed. Breakfast is complimentary and cooked by an in house chef everyday. The chilaquiles are some of the best we had in Mexico throughout our stay. There’s a rooftop bar that is stunning. It’s perfectly situated. Minutes from all the main attractions without being in the thick of it all. We booked through hotels.com which advertises airport shuttle as being complimentary with the hotel (it’s not). But, that’s more of an issue with hotels.com than this property. They will promptly respond to all questions via whatsapp and were super helpful with arranging taxi services (uber isn’t widely available). We would definitely stay here again. It had the attention to detail you’d expect from a high end boutique hotel with the conveniences of a well trusted major brand

The room was very clean, the hotel was very artsy, the stay was incredibly nice, and the breakfast was one of a kind. The location was the best. Central but quiet. I would stay here again.

Oaxaca Trip Stay March 2025

Casa Carmen is a true gem in Oaxaca. The property feels more like a beautifully maintained home than a hotel, offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like a home away from home. The location is perfect, and just a short walk from the iconic Santo Domingo Church. The interior design is stylish and modern, with thoughtful details throughout. Breakfast is included and served à la carte, and the in-house chef is fantastic, always accommodating requests with care and skill. The service is consistently superb, no matter the time of day, and the staff offers great local recommendations. Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, with high-quality bath products, cozy bathrobes, and a personal, intimate feel. One of the best features is the rooftop terrace, where you can unwind in the evening with cocktails or non-alcoholic drinks. It’s a perfect space to relax and enjoy the Oaxaca vibe. Overall, Casa Carmen exceeded expectations. I’ve already recommended it to friends and family and would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone visiting Oaxaca.

A Hidden Gem of Art, Comfort, & Hospitality Staying at this boutique hotel was an absolute delight! Every detail, from the carefully curated decor to the thoughtfully placed objects, felt like a piece of art. The moment you step in, the soothing sound of the water from the entrance fountain sets a tranquil tone. The spacious interiors are impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and exude an artistic charm that makes you feel as if you’re in a private gallery. With only five rooms, the experience is intimate and exclusive. The staff goes above and beyond, making you feel like you’re among friends who genuinely care about your comfort. Their warmth and attention to detail are exceptional. One of the things we truly appreciated was the way they personally open the door for guests at any time of day or night. It adds a wonderful sense of security and exclusivity, ensuring that there’s always someone there to welcome you and that the space remains private and safe. The breakfast is another highlight—freshly prepared to order right in front of you, with a selection from a delightful à la carte menu. We were especially impressed by their thoughtfulness when we had early morning excursions.
