Great location overlooking the water, restaurant had great options and food for both breakfast and dinner. Parking was offsite but very close. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.

It was comfortable and the dinner and breakfast was lovely. We had a dog and while the hotel was welcoming, our room was a very long way from the exit and also very small to accommodate a dog crate. Parking at the hotel is non existent unless you pay £20 per night for valet parking, which for a 4* hotel is unacceptable. In addition, the check-in process was painfully slow. Only one person on the desk and dozens of visitors waiting. The restaurant staff were mostly very nice, but some were quirky and over-familiar. Not a great impression for a 4* hotel. There is an amateurish feel about the Oban Bay Hotel. It trades on its seafront position along with many other similar mid-range hotels aspiring to 4* and falling short. It might have been once- not any more.

This location is beautiful and the hotel was amazing! Only downfall is everything is accessed by stairs which is hard with heavy suitcases.

Initial impressions not good. I knew no parking on site, but drop off area chaotic. Steps to entrance and more steps and long way to lift (not sure how disabled would cope.) However staff friendly, room ok. Comfortable bed, decent breakfast and nice views of bay outside

Very poor value for money

Sorry to say I felt incredibly ripped off here. The decor was shoddy, the mattresses lumpy, the service lackadaisical. Litter and only instant coffee available in the room. Oh, and residents, incredibly, have to pay to use the spa which when you are paying over £200 a room is not what you expect.Good value is hard to find on the west coast of Scotland in August but really, I wish I’d gone to the Premier Inn.

Fabulous stay !

Beautifullly situated hotel with amazing views over the water with lovely seating area to enjoy the scenery. Small, but comfortable clean room. Delicious breakfast served in no time. Staff were friendly and professional and their uniforms were so smart. Highly recommend this hotel, we’d definitely return.

The Gem of Oban

The chef and the floor staff in the hotel restaurant should be complimented on their food, appearance and attention to detail. Just amazing keep up the fabulous work. The bar and lobby entrance sharp and sophisticated , I must say a special mention to the front bar with view over the bay. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed and decorated. For those with fur friends - there is a doggy wall of fame
