Alot of reviewers said they had a bad experience with hotel. We had an oceanfront room in the hotel part. We were on the 4th floor. The AC was kinda funky, and we did need to call for a fan. The AC didn't go below 65°. The indoor pool looked nice, we didn't have time to go. There was a convention going on while we were there, so, they were sold out. The Carousel is an older property, but, its very nice in my honest opinion. The beds were okay. I have a bad left hip, but I was able to get sleep. It's about a 15 minute ride to the Inlet and the main boardwalk area. All said and done, I'd probably stay there again. Just not during Bike Week!

Travelocity portrayed this property to be luxorious & high end & it was neither. It was ok on the cleanliness, but the staff seemed super overwhelmed. We had to ask several times for towels. Our view was great! And having access to the beach was awesome. But I was expecting a much bigger pool w/a swim up bar & that's definitely not what I got.

This is a great place to stay especially with children. There are many activities both indoors and out. Even though it rained there were still many things to keep my kids occupied. They particularly loved the ice skating and arcade.

Property was ok if you liked music from 8am until 8pm. Our bathroom ceiling leaked over the shower, our balcony door did not lock, and smelled like weed 24/7. House keeping missed a lot behind the beds from glow sticks to food. The DJ was great, the view was nice but the fire alarm was pulled at 12:30 am and then it went off again the next day around 1pm. The older lady working in the gift shop was my fav. She was very welcoming and friendly. The pool/hot tub was well kept and the sauna was really nice. Upon check in the front desk staff turned their nose up when they saw I booked through Expedia. Unsure if all the rooms were like ours or we were given a room with issues since we booked through Expedia. For what I paid with all the concerns/issues, we will not be returning.

Me and my family stayed here, and the ocean view was amazing! The beds were so uncomfortable, and the indoor pool was closed for 2 days of our stay. My kids were pretty upset about that. They also ran out of s'more's kits because they had no chocolate. That was unfortunate, so we had to walk to the food lion across the street for our own stuff for smores. The 1800 reef restaurant was absolutely horrible. Horrible service and horrible food the French onion soup looked and tasted like it came out of a can and someone slapped a piece of unmelted cheese on top of it. Overall the hotel it’s self and the location was wonderful we loved the beach.

We booked this hotel last minute and never having stayed before. Found it very comfortable and the kids loved it. The ice-skating was a bonus and you’re right on the beach and the beach was not overcrowded.

There are so much that i love about the Carousel, but I do have 2 complaints about our recent stay. The indoor pool was closed the entire time. To my understanding, it was a mechanical issue, but there was no sign on the door to let people know it was closed. A sign would've prevented the multiple questions throughout the day, every day. The second complaint is the game room by the pool. Those machines need some maintenance because half of them didnt work and there were 3 machines that took my credits but wouldn't let us play. My kids were quite disappointed and the front desk can't even do anything about the machines. I called the number on the card for assistance, but that was no help either. Other than those 2 things, we had a wonderful experience in our 3 night stay. Theres a heated outdoor pool that we enjoyed and we went to Jolly Rogers to make up for the games. We come to OC at the same time every year and wouldn't even think about staying at another hotel.
