Don't stay here
My family and i recently stayed at this VRBO house rental for my mother's 70th bday. Unfortunately our stay in this home was not as we expected or hoped for. We reached out to the owner several times during our stay regarding different issues. The owner would respond to emails with very short answers and none of the issues were resolved. These were the issues we faced staying in this house : 1. When we arrived the pool was green and had algae growing on the sides around the pool. The next day, the pool was greener, cloudy and the algae had grown further down in to the pool. We saw someone cleaning the pool next door and asked him to take a look at it and he said the pool was not safe to swim in and needed cleaning. After reaching out to the owner someone finally came in Friday (our last full day in Florida) and he said we could not use the pool until the next day due to the chemicals used to clean the pool. We were unable to use the pool for the entirely of our trip. This is upsetting considering we paid extra for heating the pool and were unable to use it. 2. From the first day of our stay, the kitchen faucet had a non stop drip. This water would go on to the counter and on to the floor every time. We notified the power immediately and it was not addressed. We woke up every morning to a puddle on the kitchen floor and spent time from our vacation to clean it often. We had to use the towels that was provided in the house to clean up the water and had to do laundry often because we needed to use these same towels for baths. This all took up a lot of our time when we were supposed to be spending this time with each other. My 70 year old mother was mopping the floor on her bday trip. 3. House was not ready at 4pm. When we arrived, the cleaning crew was still there. We had to wait outside for 20 minutes to enter in to the house. After we went in, the couch had crumbs on it and was not cleaned. We had to spend time cleaning the couch and we had to use our own paper towels we bought to do this because there were none at the house. We also had to buy our own toilet paper, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent, garbage bags and tissue. 4. No working cable. 5. Missing items from game room. 6. No response from owner despite multiple attempts.
