Uncomfortable beds, chemically smelling room

No card key to enter into building. Room smelled chemically clean. Mirror had smears, dust on edges, and window was dirty. Rusty door way. Very uncomfortable bed. Coffee pot missing tray to make coffee. I was told I was getting the best ground floor suite. Lucky they had coffee available all the time in the lobby. We had trouble with our tv for about 30 minutes, until someone came and fixed. Breakfast area wasn't being kept up. Someone left some of there waffle crust in the waffle maker and it was burnt. English muffins were stale, and eggs were cold. All the while someone sat at the front desk talking on speaker phone. Keep in mind the lobby/front desk and Breakfast area are all 1 area. I was told since I used a 3 party she couldn't give me a receipt. I told her I was going to give a bad review, she removed her broken glasses and said she wasn't going argue with me about a receipt she couldn't give, then walked away. I won't be back.

1st room had leak and mold in bathroom. Found spider in bed. They gave us new room that was slightly bigger. No exhaust fan in bathroom.

Ok for the price

The hotell does have free breakfast. It said online that it didnt so that was a nice surprise. The staff were fine, the room looked like it was cleaned. The building is just older and needs to be updated but thats not really anything to do with the staff. The room is small. I had my baby with me and there was hardly enough room to fit his stroller in the room without blocking the walk way around the bed. Overall it was just ok but definitely seemed better than other options in the area for the price.

For Breakfast, it would be really nice to have a couple pitchers of ice water on the counter. MULTIPLE guests could not believe that WATER was not an option at breakfast. Some prepackaged donuts & danishes would be nice as well.

The room was clean and very large which was nice but we booked for 5 people and were told they don’t have rollaway beds and with no couch in the room that was inconvenient and uncomfortable. We made it work but would choose a different hotel next time. There was also a large group staying there which was fine except the parking lot is small and was nearly full. So at capacity I don’t know how you’d park. The hotel is also off more of a back road so the canal is walkable but there’s really no view of anything. Continental breakfast was fine, standard foods.

I’d stay here again. Location is fair but it’s not a very walkable location. Plan to drive when going anywhere.

From our pre-arrival registration to the swift and friendly check-in, we were impressed with the welcome. The care of this hotel taken by the staff is evident by the high level of cleanliness aÄșl around. We look forward to our next visit.

Never use Hotel.com

We had problem with getting a room on the first floor for my mom because she is handicap and can’t climb stairs.because the reservations were thru Hotels .Wyndham hotel wouldn’t allow us to reserve rooms on 1st floor. We wouldn’t be assigned room until we arrived. Which were on 2nd floor so aug 2 we had to stay with relatives and couldn’t get into rooms on 1st floor until after 4pm .it w a s a waste of money going through Hotels for reservations and I didn’t save anything I could of booked the rooms myself for about the same price I will never use Hotel again and would like a refund for aug2. And for part of aug3 and the $100 for guarantee reservation.also we had traveled 420miles

Good value for our short stay

It was a good stay. Bed was very comfortable and clean. The room was older in decor but on par with what is in Oscoda. Breakfast was adequate. Price was good.

Definitely wasn’t the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed. We had weevils that got in constantly. Which isn’t terrible but definitely creepy. Staff underwhelming. Had breakfast made in a microwave. At least they had breakfast.
