Lookout on Waters Edge - Oceanfront home in Owls Head; 3BR, dog-friendly
**With new living and dining furniture, as well as painting, furniture and decor planned for Spring 2026**
Welcome to your coastal retreat in Owls Head, where sweeping views of Rockland Harbor set the tone for an unforgettable Maine escape. This beautifully positioned three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath home offers a front-row seat to life on the water, from lobster boats heading out at dawn to sailboats and ferries gliding by throughout the day.
Inside, the home is filled with natural light and an easy coastal elegance. Vaulted wood ceilings, expansive windows, and an open living area create a bright, inviting space to gather, unwind, and take in the scenery. The main-floor primary bedroom enjoys calming water views and a comfortable, convenient layout just steps from the shared bathroom and living space.
Upstairs, two additional bedrooms provide cozy accommodations, connected by a charming catwalk that overlooks the living room below and frames the harbor beyond. Itâs a unique vantage point that highlights the homeâs character and airy design.
Step outside and follow the staircase down to the shoreline, where you can launch a kayak, explore the rocky coast, or take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic. Early risers will be rewarded with stunning sunrises over the iconic Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse, a view well worth capturing.
Located just five minutes from downtown Rockland, youâll enjoy easy access to dining, galleries, shops, and Midcoast attractions while still feeling tucked away in a peaceful waterfront setting. From quiet mornings by the water to evenings spent watching the light fade over the harbor, this is a place to slow down and truly settle in.
Pets: One dog may be considered with pre-approval. Please inquire.
The view of the bay from this house, it simply stunning. We loved exploring the beach, grilling dinner on the deck and relaxing in the evenings. The shared bathroom worked for our family, but it could be a little awkward for some groups. Wish there was a dining table, and the living room furniture could use a refresh - very worn sofas were rough on the lower back after awhile. We'd book again - it's a 5 min drive into Rockland.
This is a beautiful property. The views from the windows and deck are incredible. I short walk down some wobbly stairs and you are on the beach. Minutes from Downtown Rockland but still very secluded and private. You do not notice the Tennant in the attached apartment much at all. We enjoyed our stay and may even stay there again. While it was beautiful and we overall we had a great visit, there are 2 things you should note before booking this property...
One, there is no Air Conditioning. Not a problem most of the time in Maine, where typically a good fan is all you need. Unfortunately when we were there (Mid July), it was unseasonably hot, and as a result so with this house. Even with windows open and ceiling fans running at their highest setting, it got really hot.
Two, there is only one shower. Lot's of beds to accommodate large groups/families. But you are all sharing the same shower. Not really a big deal, but again something to note.
Again, overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend others, just take those 2 things into consideration.
