Set in the courtyard of our own home, but completely separate and private, Gadbury Cottage is cosy and very comfortable whether your choice is for a winter or summer break. It offers an ideal location to discover Oxford and the nearby attractions of Oxford City, Blenheim Palace, Shotover Park, Waterperry Gardens, Otmoor nature reserve, the Chilterns and Cotswolds Hills. Wheatley has all the facilities to meet your immediate needs - 2 foodstores, baker, coffee shop, post office, bank and choice of restaurants and pubs. The village has a long history through it's location on the main coaching route from London to Oxford - it was once descibed as the most agreeable stopping place between Beaconsfield and Woodstock. Today it's transport links are still excellent being just 2 miles from the Thornhills Park and Ride and a similar distance from the M40. There are regular bus services to Oxford and to Haddenham/Thame train station. Central London is c53 miles and Heathrow c45 miles, both have good public transport links.

Gadburry cottage est un nid trÚs charmant et so British, au calme dans un joli village. Les piÚces sont chaleureusement décorées et trÚs bien équipées (propreté impeccable, bonne literie, rangements nombreux, appareils pour rendre le séjour agréable et facile). La situation du cottage est idéale pour découvrir la région, trÚs riche en activités trÚs variées. La proximité d'Oxford en bus est parfaite. Et si la météo l'autorise, profiter du jardin est un vrai plus. Jenny et Martin sont trÚs réactifs. Bref, un lieu idéal pour des vacances reposantes et actives. A recommander sans hésiter.

Nous avons beaucoup apprĂ©ciĂ© notre sĂ©jour Ă  Wheatley .Le cottage est trĂšs confortable et bien situĂ©.IL y a un arrĂȘt de bus Ă  proximitĂ© du logement qui permet de se rendre Ă  oxford rapidement. Perfect location for Oxford and Thame with fabulous 400 bus service connecting both. Great meals at The Black Horse in Thame and Sunday lunch at The Kings Arms in Wheatley. Gadbury Cottage perfectly situated for both and visiting Waterperry Gardens and Althorpe House an hours drive away The cottage was clean, comfortable and met all our needs including a small private garden with loungers which we made good use of on a rest day whilst the weather was good. Hosts were friendly and gave good advice re local transport services. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone considering a stay in this area.

Charming cottage

we loved the location of this charming cozy cottage in the small village outside of Oxford. It had everything we needed except for soap for the bath/shower. Easy short walk to the store, bakeries and Indian restaurant was convenient.

Very convenient for bus travel into Oxford

Very cute cottage in Wheatley. It was very easy to catch a bus into Oxford, and busses run very regularly until the wee hours of the morning. Will definitely use this house to stay again

Everything was fine

The village is very small, you can buy nearly everything by credit card, except the Chinese take-away service. For shopping you can use the CoOp in the village or you can go to the ASDA round about 5 miles away. Finally everthing was really good.

Lovely rural cottage/loft close to Oxford

The stone cottage was perfect for 3 of us. We spent most of our days in Oxford, and this was lovely to come home to. Neat cafe up the road to grab breakfast and coffee from. Shops/restaurants/pubs are also nearby.
