Colony One at Sea Mountain resort is one of the most serene resorts on the Big Island. Perfect for those who want to get the true Hawaiian experience. Colony One at Sea Mountain Condos are located on the South end of the Big Island only 60 minutes from Hilo and 80 minutes from Kona and 25 minutes from Volcano National Park. The two closest towns are Na’alehu (7 miles South) and Pahala (5 miles North).
Walk to the world famous Punalu’u Black Sand Beach, and swim with the green sea turtles which bask on the beach all day long. All short drives from the resort: Green Sands Beach, South Point Cliffs, Kilauea Volcano, Ka’u Coffee Mills, and so much more. Green Sands Beach is the only natural beach in the world that encompasses beautiful green sand made out of olivine crystals. South Point cliffs are the most southern point in the United States and are world renowned for amazing views and cliff jumping excitement. The condo had every item you would need from beach towels and chairs to a washer and dryer and well stocked kitchen. The property has a gorgeous pool and hot tub surrounded by stunning landscaping looking out to the ocean! Kona is a 1.5 hour drive, which we willingly did every day, we liked the peace of quiet where the condo is and drove to the busy side. We will come again!!! Thank you Julie!!!”

Parisa - Apr 2018 - Our stay was great! Julie was responsive and accommodating. The condo is a < 5 min walk to Punalu'u beach which is amazing. It was also very conveniently located to the Volcanoes National Park so it was good home base for us to explore the beach and national park. The condo was clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. If you are interested in snorkeling or beach activities you will need to remember to bring your own as they are not provided by the condo and there are no rental places at the beach. It is in a remote location which is great for relaxing but plan your groceries and meals accordingly. I would definitely stay here again.

A rental car is a must in this area- as warned, there are not any places to get groceries within walking distance. We had no issues during our stay, we found the condo to be clean and well appointed. The locals were great in sharing their input on when to jump. Friends joined us in their Jeep to take us to Green Sand Beach. We had breakfast at the Bakery and great local dinners and lunch. Your information in the condo was very helpful. I was concerned when I signed up for no A/C in Aug but it cooled off to a pleasant sleeping temperature. I love the louvers - what a difference that makes in keeping the rooms cool. The pool and jacuzzi were a hit along with Black Sand Beach. Thanks again. The kids said their favorite part of HI so far!”

This was a lovely condominium community. Quiet and great views of the water. The condo was clean and the kitchen small but well stocked. Walking distance to the beach. The hot tub was huge which was good as it was a popular place in the evenings. Parking and check in/out were easy. Would stay here again.

The location was just right for us as we love the Black Sand Beach. Everything was good in the condo with the exception of the sofa bed. All other condos we have stayed in at that resort have had pull down sofa beds with thick mattresses. This condo had a pull out sofa bed with a thin-ish mattress on it. For the 3rd bed, it was okay, but much prefer the thicker sofa bed.

Enjoyed our short stay

Very nicely kept and quiet property away from everything. About a 2 hour drive from the airport, but easy enough. Very close to the black sand beach and Volcano park. Only downside was no air conditioning, but it cooled off nicely at night with the windows open. It was comfortable for our group of 5 for the 2 days we were there. Thanks!

It was just like the listed information. I just didn't think it was for me and my family cause it was like we couldn't talk to each other after 6:30 pm cause it was super quiet and to have teens in the unit is hard to stay quiet. we spent most of our time at the beach and at family houses.

Beautiful Getaway

Very nice and comfortable property/community near black sand beach. Overall the property was very nice and comfortable. It was minimally stocked with supplies and kitchen appliances. No extras in this regard. Also, it was clean but with some wear. Two hour drive (approximate) so be prepared if you fly in late.

Great vacation

We enjoyed that it had 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. The view of the sunrise from the balcony was great, and it was a short walk to the Black Sand Beach. We liked the location, close to many of the southern attractions of the state and not in the heart of the business.
