We stayed for one of the last nights of our honeymoon. We loved it so much that we wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately it was fully booked!
The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, the staff are so friendly and welcoming from checkin and at breakfast and they always remembered our names.
The location cannot be beaten for Casco Viejo (I know because we had to stay elsewhere afterwards). It's walkable to restaurants, bars, churches, sites and the Mercado de Mariscos.
We loved it here!
The Amarla is a beautiful property. Gina at the front desk was very helpful. Also, we appreciated the man who carried our bags 6 blocks on the night of our arrival due to roadblocks because of the holiday. I highly recommend - just request room not directly in sun because air conditioner is a little weak. Jenny in the dining room was wonderful and breakfast was absolutely delicious.

We only had a couple of nights here before we flew home from Panama. The Amarla is a very chic little hotel, well situated in Casco Viejo lovely rooms and decor throughout. Angel was at reception while we were there, he was very friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
They are a very cute little boutique hotel in the heart of Casco Viejo. If you are looking for a charming little home feel, soak in the historic area with the classic balconies the shutters and brick walls filled with local and carefully selected art and decoration with the touch of luxury, look no further!
The room was extremely noisy as was above their restaurant .No lounge area to sit so confimed to very small dark room .Kaandala is the restaurant where service was slow and one main course arrived cold. This hotel is definitely not worthy of it’s proce.
Amarlanis a beautiful, spotless, boutique hotel. The staff is amazingly friendly and genuinely make you feel at home. My room was quite small, but complete with everything i needed. I would recommend it to a friend looking for a place to stay in Casco Viejo!
Superb little Boutique hotel in the center of the Casco Viejo, which also features one of the best restaurants I encountered in Panama, and beyond. The area offers shops, sights, museums, access to the coast, and many good restaurants in all price ranges. Highly recommendable !!!
Cozy hotel, comfortable with friendly staff. However, the room cleanliness could be improved considering the hotel's standard.
Very good breakfast, delicious!
There is no TV in the room, but this didn't affect us, as we always prefer to explore the city.
I was thrilled to stay at the Amarla. The communication between the staff and me before my arrival (discussing tours and other details) was more than outstanding. Never have I received such communication from a hotel. Special shout out to Osmar, who kept me in the loop and Ginelva, who was at the front desk when we checked in. She made sure we got settled in, had dinner, and assured us coffee and a box meal the morning we had a 6am tour. The room was comfortable and really, really quiet. The hotel offered the best sleep I've had in six months! The staff in the on-site restaurant was also very attentive : Yenny and Luis were exceptionally attentive. And the food was delicious, we ate dinner the first night at the hotel and every day for breakfast. When I return to Panama I will definitely start at the Amarla again.
