Lake Superior shoreline in Paradise, MI
Come visit paradise in Paradise! This is a 3 bedroom, 2-bathroom lake front home. The home features an open plan with hardwood floors, an updated kitchen and bathrooms. There is a firepit that sits near the lake for your enjoyment. The large lot is nicely wooded which provides privacy from neighbors and the road. This home is located in close proximity to the town of Paradise (1/2 mile). Tahquamenon Falls which includes great hiking trails, Whitefish Bird Sanctuary, and Whitefish Point that also hosts the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum are less than 10 miles away. Additionally, other attractions about an hour or less are, Oswald Bear Ranch, Sault Ste Marie/Soo Locks, Mackinaw Island and city.
We were greatly surprised by the seclusion and vastness of the area. The photos on Vrbo do not properly represent this remodeled property! I suggest the owners update the gallery. There ARE window treatments in the bedrooms and the owners have created a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. We appreciated the welcome book with its suggestions and recommendations for local fare. If y'all are driving up, and plan on cooking, (the kitchen is wonderful and fully equipped) bring your own food as the one and only grocery is expensive... for example, 3.99 for two sticks of butter! 17.00 for a bottle of cheap wine. 8.00 for a half gallon of Blue Bunny ice cream. White Fish Point and the Shipwreck Museum are a MUST. However, souvenirs are less expensive at Tahquamenon Falls, which is also amazing! Be prepared to do a LOT of walking at the falls. We enjoyed lunch at the falls in their Brewery restaurant which is moderately priced. Their fish (Lake Superior Trout) and chips are quite tasty. Another awesome place to take in are the Soo Locks, which are an hour northeast. We had a blast visiting the UP and absorbing the history and culture. Oh -- bring insect repellant and Benadryl, the mosquitoes are huge and plentiful.
This stay was absolutely amazing! I just got done drinking coffee in my jammies along Lake Superior. This morning i saw a myganser, juvenilee eagle, a couple of sea gulls, two loons, and a momma wood duck with her babies. The solitude and serenity you experience here is unmatched. And who doesn't love a HUGE kitchen. We cooked every night with the windows open listening to the waves. The Paradise area is quaint and friendly. Barb's Beach (in the welcome binder) feels like your own private beach. It was so unbelievable feeling the breeze and just letting time pass while we enjoyed looking for agates and yooperlites. If you're looking for a true retreat, book this place.
I want to say thank you for the owners for let us in the property is excellent the view is amazing and surroundings beautiful I usually complain about some stay but this time everything was perfect location, cleanliness, and silence that's we needed it we definitely come back
Beautiful home. Extremely clean and loved open feel of the house. Great location for easy day trips to beaches, picture rock park, Soo lockes, and falls.
The view was great. The house was bigger than expected. Has a great kitchen and had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave and would definitely stay again.
Located close to both Taquamenon falls and whitefish point. Only issue is that the entry key pad is impossible to find in daylight, let alone a rainstorm at night, and the owner was difficult to reach to help resolve. Once resolved, everything was fine.
This house was exactly as advertised with fully stocked kitchen, fans in each of the bedrooms (it was a very warm week in September) and a beautiful view of Lake Superior and stunning sunrises every morning. The information provided for the area was very helpful. The Paradise Food Pantry Market had a decent selection of groceries even though we brought most of our own food to cook.
This was a great place to stay. We were able to do as much as we wanted, and relax as much as we wanted to.
Would definitely book this property again!!
The accommodations were excellent. From the ad we thought you could walk out on the beach. This is not the case. Spectacular view though. Host contact was excellent. Notebook with information for the house and area was very informative. We do have one suggestion however. You should put in the book to make sure not to lock the handle into the house. We locked ourselves out even though we had the correct code for the door. The most was very quick to help us get in. Every amenity was available from very nice dishes,
gas stove, towels, washer dryer, etc. Great fire pit with a spectacular view. Area surrounding the home was very quiet which we loved. Highly recommend this VRBO!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The place as very clean and exactly as advertised. It has wonderful lake views and is very close to town. The kitchen is huge and the living area was very comfy. The hosts were very friendly and responsive in all communications. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
What a cute property, the kitchen was amazing for our family. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. The fire pit was a bonus!! The views were top notch. I would definitely stay here again. Our family enjoyed it so much!!
This is perhaps the best rentals at which we've stayed (and there have been a lot)! Clean and well maintained and well stocked! Says it sleeps 6, and there are pans and dishware to make dinner for six...didn't need the big pot I brought! We will recommend to our family & friends. Thanks for sharing your fantastic property with us đ It was just the escape we needed!
It was a spacious and comfortable home. The view of Whitefish Bay/ Lake Superior is wonderful. The property owners were easy to contact and were quick to respond.
Very comfortable, clean and spacious home. Washer and dryer a big plus! Its so quiet and peaceful, you just hear the birds, the wind blowing thru the trees, and The Lake. Best view of Lake Superior right out front!! One of the nicest homes we've stayed at. Relatively close to all the big attractions of the U.P. As we kept saying, "there is always a view!!"
This home exceeded all of our expectations!! Courtney is very responsive and kind. Unfortunately the power was out when we arrived due to a recent storm, but thankfully was restored 10min after I called her and we were able to reset the water pump w/out any trouble. Minor hiccup that will make for a great memory. Can not say enough about the view! Itâs breath taking and the fire pit is perfectly placed to take it all in!! The house accommodated 3 adult couples comfortably and was equipped with everything we needed. One couple said the beds were too firm, but the rest of us loved them.. super comfy after a day of hiking. Plenty of blankets, pillows, and even fans. The showers were divine w/ excellent water pressure. My husband, who is 6â4â loved that the shower heads were mounted higher up;) The town is super cute and I highly recommend getting ice cream from the snowflake food truck!! We explored Tahquamenon Falls and ate at the brewery (whitefish dip and cheese shapes were Amazing!) We bought groceries at The Pantry down the street and were able to make dinner every night in an incredible kitchen (I will miss that kitchen) We also checked out Oswaldâs Bear Farm, had low expectations, but was actually pretty cool. We even got to meet Dean Oswald himself! Our kids really wanted to kayak Pictured Rocks but one of our daughters is pregnant and we thought it might not be the best idea, so we did the scenic drive instead and it did not disappoint! Will be back again for sure!!
Our stay near Paradise was perfect. Four women who grew up together met for a week of eating, laughing and touring the sites nearby. The home was so well equipped---just lovely! But... we give the view a 10+ with the most beautiful sunrises. We highly recommend our tours---Pictured Rocks Boat Tour, Tahquamenon Falls, Shipwreck Museum, Oswald Bear Ranch and the Cranberry Farm. Eating---the Brewery at Upper Tahquamenon Falls, the Inn and Wheelhouse Diner (great breakfast) all very good.
And we ended an evening by the water with a fire in the fire pit. Thank you to our hosts for help when we contacted and sharing their lovely Lake Superior home.
