A perfect slice of Paris

Our stay could not have been better. The apartment was groovy and perfectly situated to explore the village neighborhood of Montmartre. We could easily walk up the steps to our favorite people watching hangout, Place du Tertre, there were numerous cafes a stone’s throw away, and we could explore the rest of Paris via metro, which was a little ways down the hill. The only issue for some might be going up and down the hills and staircases of Montmartre but we loved the charm and adventure of it all.

A haven in Montmartre

As soon as we opened the door we knew we would be happy to stay at this apartment. It has everything we needed to be comfortable for our week’s break. It is clean, roomy and comfortable bed! Just minutes walk from place du Tertre and cafes and bistros everywhere. Secure access is something we look for and this was perfect for that too. The bonus was a well tuned piano (my wife is a pianist and she loved it). Hopefully the neighbours did too but she only played at respectful hours! The guidance for the apartment was detailed and helpful. Of course we want to return.

Eine sehr irrefĂŒhrende Annonce!

Unsere Erwartungen an eine Ferienwohnung stehen durch jahrelange Erfahrungen mit verschiedenen Anbietern von Feriendomizilen, auch hier in Paris, in einem ausgeglichenen VerhĂ€ltnis zu den allgemein ĂŒblichen Lebensweisen an diesen Orten. Umso mehr finden wir es sehr schade, im Fall dieser Ferienwohnung ein negativ kritisches Fazit ziehen zu mĂŒssen. An sich ist der Wohnort perfekt fĂŒr einen lĂ€ngeren Aufenthalt. Trotz der NĂ€he zu dem sehr trubeligen Leben auf dem Montmartre war es in der Wohnung sehr leise. Aber: Die veröffentlichten Fotos, die die Anzeige der Ferienwohnung illustrieren, entsprechen nur zum Teil der RealitĂ€t und sind deshalb irrefĂŒhrend. In diesem Zusammenhang enttĂ€uschten uns auch der allgemeine Zustand der Unterkunft und die inserierte, fehlerhafte Beschreibung der Wohnungsausstattung. Wir fanden eine Wohnung vor, in der es stark nach Zigarettenrauch und altem, abgestandenen Tabak roch, was (natĂŒrlich) auch nicht durch permanentes LĂŒften durch uns wĂ€hrend des Aufenthaltes wegging. Als wir essen wollten, mussten wir erst einmal abwaschen: schmutzige kleine Löffel, mit RĂ€ndern von abgestandenem Kaffee beschmutzte Tassen, eine noch mit KrĂŒmeln verdreckte SchĂŒssel (oder Aschenbecher?) in der SpĂŒle. In einer Schublade gab es auch zwei TĂŒten mit Resten von altbackenem Brot, das vereiste Gefrierfach war braun beschmutzt. Entgegen der Wohnungsbeschreibung gab es in der KĂŒche keine Mikrowelle. Die doppelten VorhĂ€nge im Eingangsbereich waren fleckig, der grĂŒne Sessel war ebenfalls schmutzig und befleckt. Besonders das Foto vom Schlafzimmer tĂ€uscht. Eine andere Raumaufteilung ist kein Problem, aber wenn die Tischlampen (vier auf dem Foto) nicht vorhanden sind, dann schrĂ€nkt dies den Wohnkomfort ein, da nur die HĂ€ngelampe den Raum beleuchtete. KleiderbĂŒgel sind nicht vorhanden. Die einzige Möglichkeit, mehr als ein feuchtes Handtuch aufzuhĂ€ngen, bot der WĂ€schetrockner, der die gesamte Zeit ĂŒber im Eingangsbereich stehen musste. Der fĂŒr uns problematischste Teil der Wohnung war das Badezimmer. Die Dusche ist praktisch nicht zu gebrauchen, ohne eine Überschwemmung zu riskieren. Die TĂŒrdichtungen unten sind defekt und die TĂŒren schließen nicht, sodass selbst bei vorsichtiger Benutzung des Duschkopfes mit der Hand immer Wasser aus der Dusche floss. Die Befestigung fĂŒr den Duschkopf steckt locker in der Wand. Kalk und Schmutz sammeln sich vor der Dusche an. Das MöbelstĂŒck, auf dem das Waschbecken ruht, ist unsauber und der

L'unica cosa positiva Ăš stata il rimborso

Gestore disponibile a fare il rimborso e a dare spiegazioni, unica nota positiva di questo soggiorno in quanto il soggiorno non Ăš mai avvenuto... Arrivati all'appartamento ci siamo ritrovati davanti a due stanze completamente sporche e in disordine con bottiglie vuote e avanzi. La risposta Ăš stata che la donna delle pulizie purtroppo ha avuto un imprevisto e noi ci siamo ritrovati costretti a cercare altro all'ultimo minuto dovendo perdere una giornata intera per la ricerca e spendere il doppio dei soldi per una minuscola stanza di hotel. Il proprietario a tutto questo ha risposto in modo scocciato dicendo cose assurde come ad esempio che abbiamo lasciato energie negative nella sua amata casa e che non ci meritiamo Parigi minacciando di non fare il rimborso....cose da matti. Tutte le volte che ho alloggiato da privati non mi era mai capitata un'esperienza simile. Vorrei allegare le foto delle stanze e degli oggetti per dimostrare quanto dico, anche perchĂš molte cose erano lasciate sporche da molto tempo...ad esempio bollitore per il tĂš tutto incrostato di calcare... Purtroppo questo imprevisto ha rovinato il viaggio a Pairigi che aspettavamo da tempo creandoci enormi difficoltĂ  di tempo ed economiche...oltre che di umore.

Great place for a romantic stay in Paris

A cozy apartment in the heart of Momontre. We really enjoyed this location for its easy walk to metro stops and proximity to Sacre Coeur without feeling like you were in a busy neighborhood. The apartment had all the necessities for light cooking and a nice shower room. The toilet is in a separate, small room off the kitchen. Plenty of outlets throughout the house to charge electronics. You do need to negotiate stairs to enter the apartment and in any case the area around the apartment has a lot of stairs and hills - so not necessarily ideal if you are mobility challenged.

Fantastic place, as advertised!

I had a wonderful stay in Alexandre's flat. It was extremely charming and comfortable, had everything I needed, and walking distance from everything that mattered. Despite the crowds and buzz of Montmartre, the street itself was very quiet and so it proved to be a welcome respite at the end of each day. Would highly recommend this flat - it has everything you need for a very comfortable stay in an amazing neighborhood whether it's for a few days or weeks, as my stay was.

We loved our stay! Alexandre is an amazing host! This property is in the best location in Paris.

We spent a week in this 2 room flat. It was the perfect size for my wife and I. To be honest, more than two people I think things would be a little tight. Alexandre checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was OK. He was also great in communicating before our visit, so I felt so much better knowing what to expect before I arrived. It had all the amenities we needed.... oven, fridge, plates, cookware, silver, and basic cooking essentials. We used the included washing machine, and there is a clothes drying rack if needed. The building was very quiet, and we felt totally secure the whole time we were there. I If I have one critique it would be that there was no microwave oven. We did use the oven to heat up some left overs. The food in Paris is too good to waste! We were greeted by Lucas when we arrived, and he helped show us around the flat, helped me up with our luggage, and made sure everything was clean and ready to go. He also showed us how to use the keys. WE LOVED THE LOCATION!!!!! It is a 4 minute walk to EVERYTHING! The Place de Tertre is minutes away. Sacre-Coeur is a 5 minute walk. Abbesses Metro stop is only minutes away by foot. There are 4.5 star restaurants only minutes away. Just wondering the around the back streets of Montemartre knowing your were minutes from "home base" if amazing. I loved leaving the flat in the morning, and seeing the "walking tours" on Montmartre and knowing that for the week I was "living" there, and a part of the action. If you are a fan of the movie "Amelie Poulan" you are going to want to stay here! The fruit market from the movie is 1/2 a block away (and we went every night to get things we needed). The Cafe des 2 Moulins is on Rue Lepic where Amelie worked is a 8 minute walk. Not to mention Sacre-Coeur, the Abbesses metro station, etc... all around this flat. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Paris. I can't think of a better location. Overall a very great experience. Great value. And a great host!

Very charming place, well located inMontmartre

Me and my boyfriend spent a wonderful time in this small but nice flat in Montmartre. We really enjoyed the neighbourhood, the narrow streets that suddenly ends with a fantastic view of Paris. It is really close to Sacre Coeur as well as metro stations. The host was really helpful and welcoming and gave us recommendations for lunchplace that was excellent. There was a problem with the water in the shower during our stay we, the warm water didn’t work properly. The owner/host was aware of it and told us about it when we arrived. We managed to shower with just a little water those days but it wouldn’t have worked for a longer stay. I would absolutely rent the place again ( if the water has been fixed). /Malin

Great neighborhood, but not so great service, and not so clean apartment...

First off, the last 20 years or so we have stayed in many vacation rentals throughout Spain, Italy, France and the US. Accordingly, we have a fair idea of what to expect based on a web description with shiny photos. Our basic expectation is a clean apartment, with all the items as promised online, in working condition. In this particular rental case, we let the owner know we will be arriving late (around 22:00), and were promised that the housekeeper will meet us there with the keys, introduce the apartment and answer any questions we might have. We were appreciative of this, but did not believe we are asking for too much... after all, one expects a level of flexibility, and 22:00 is not the middle of the night... Our trouble started with the key delivery, which was a real mess, instead of the housekeeper, somebody else showed up with NO English knowledge, clueless, and with a rude attitude. I did not rent it your apartment from him, but he behaved like we owe him gratitude... and until I called the owner's number, he was not even willing to give us the key he had (apparently the spare key was missing), promising to bring us another set the next day... The living room lights and some of the nightstand lights were not functioning, and in contrast to the VRBO description, no microwave oven was available at the time of our rental... After sunset, we had to open the toilet door to use its light to provide some visibility in the living/dining room area... However, the biggest issue we had was the dirty and smelly bed linens... they gave us the impression that even though we had been charged for a cleaning fee, fresh linens have not been provided for us (we had to cover the bed with our spare towels in order to somehow mask the odor)... the same lack of cleaning has also been observed in the bathroom... the toilet brush... it was disgusting! When these issues were related to the owner, he went off on a rant, about how ungrateful we are about the late arrive accommodation, that we had nothing nice to say about the apartment, and that we failed to water the flowers and they died in the summer heat (in 3 days and 4 nights?)... he finished lecturing us that if we want 5 star hotel accommodations, we should next time stay at a 5 star hotel!!! Wow! Clean linens and bathrooms, functioning lights, etc... are traits of 5-star accommodations?? VRBO should advise owners about their minimum expectations! The property could have been managed so much better!
