Cozy streamfront cabin nestled in the pines
Listen to the trickling stream from your back porch. Watch butterflies play in the fruit trees. Pick a few blackberries and dip your toes in the water...
Blackberry Cabin is a cozy log cabin set back on an acre of pine and fruit trees in the community of Whispering Pines. The fenced backyard leads to the banks of the East Verde, sometimes a gushing river, other times a rocky stream, where locals wade and catch the stocked trout. Riverbanks are lined by grass, flowers and blackberries which you are welcome to pick! Our property includes a unique stone embankment where swallows and other birds like to zip by, with a steep hill behind leading to national forest land. Watch for wandering deer and elk!
Inside there is an open living and dining area with a fully stocked kitchen - just bring your favorite food! There is a loft bedroom with a pleasant sitting area close to the air on warm afternoons, with room for friends or family in the sleeper couch below. On cool fall or winter nights the toasty wood stove will keep you warm with that lovely radiant heat.
Whispering Pines is a small neighborhood of full time residents and visitors escaping the heat and bustle of the city! It is minutes from excellent hiking trails at Washington Park and various public access points on the East Verde. In addition to proximity to the ever-increasing line up of activities in Payson, it is close to local attractions like Tonto National Bridge, and the towns of Strawberry and Pine.
This is an INCREDIBLE property. The backyard and riverbank is full of wonder and kept us busy for hours and hours. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and full of spots to hike or take in the beautiful views. The cabin itself is good, itâs very cabin-esque and that was just fine with us. This is our second time back and I canât wait to go again!
This was such an amazing surprise.Such a great cabin, great backyard.Great crick got to see the elk, gray squirrels and stella, Jay birds.Loved every moment
Both a rustic and modern cabin. Gorgeous ceiling and siding of tongue-and-groove pine, yet well insulated. Lots of comfortable seating areas inside and outside. Working WiFi. Birds and squirrels are fun to watch from the covered back porch. On the way there from Payson, we saw open range cattle and 3 elk. Clean place. Outstanding owner communication. Very private, yet seems like acres of outdoor space next to a stream. Fully outfitted kitchen is family-friendly. Cards and games and magazines to occupy everyone. Plan on staying multiple days and multiple times â we will and we have. A rating.
Loved the cabin, it was a bit dusty in places but overall lovely! Everything you need to prepare meals! Was in a pretty setting although close to neighbors it was private because of landscape! Quiet and serene.
The cabin itself is a cute layout, the issue is a musty smell when you walk in. From there it just seemed to have gotten a little worse, the closet upstairs has a stale urine odor as well as in the bathroom. It's very outdated which is fine other than the carpet in the bathroom. When we went to bed there were children's underwear made into the bed. The blinds in the bathroom were very dusty and the bath mat in the shower has mold. The driveway is also meant for smaller compact vehicles. Unfortunately we drive bigger vehicles (lifted trucks) and in order for us to get in and out we had to go into the neighbors property just to be able to turn around to get out. The scenery was beautiful, the porch on the back deck was perfect for a quiet morning. I think this cabin has great potential if cleaning was done a bit better and maybe some updates to at least the flooring due to the waxy feeling on the carpet.
Much needed short vacation! Cabin got everything we needed. Only disappointment was the stream - lacking water due to summer and not much rain this season. We always stay near the East Verde river at other locations either during fall or early part of the year so we'll plan it better next time.
This is a rustic log cabin in a very wooded area. Perfect for relaxing and getting off the grid. Internet was available as well as Netflix. However, donât plan on getting any cell reception.
We had a great weekend at this property! The house was comfortable and the setting was beautiful. We saw tons of cows and even elk in the yard, eating blackberries right off the tree! Such a cool experience. The stream out back was peaceful and added to the relaxing vibe. If youâre looking to unwind and enjoy nature, this is the perfect spot.
I have stayed at the Blackberry Cabin multiple times and itâs always the first listing I check when itâs time for another trip up north. Small, cozy cabin at the end of a private drive, neighbor close by but donât really notice. Everything you could possibly need (kitchen, bathroom items, etc.) is provided, right down to a little welcome basket. Gabriel definitely knows how to run a rental and make you feel at home. Lots of room to hike and explore right on the property or short drive away. For less active people, the view from the deck is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Would love to stay for a month if I could. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful cabin with others.
