The Meadow house, a modern strawbale home, is surrounded by creeks and woodlands on ten secluded acres.

Explore the surrounding woods, relax on the spacious deck and take in the stars, and plan adventures in nearby Lawrence and at Perry Lake

Inside the home, curl up in a peaceful corner to enjoy a book, challenge family and friends to various games in the rec room, and enjoy meals from the modern kitchen with all the amenities.

The space
This 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home sleeps 12. Enjoy staying in a modern, spacious country home 15 minutes from Perry Lake and 20 minutes from Lawrence and the University of Kansas.

Please note - the staircase is open, and not safe for young children (2 and under). If staying in the property with young children, supervision is required at all times around the stairs.

You will have complete access to the home and surrounding ten acres. The home sits in the middle of a large meadow, surrounded by woods and two creeks.

This house was amazing, so much space, so tastefully decorated, so quiet. My friends and I didn't want to leave and said they had more fun staying here than when we stayed in Quebec City last summer. It was a lot of fun to watch hawks and deer from the deck, as well as play vintage arcade games in the basement on hot afternoons.

Great house with lots of room. Games for teenagers and nice appliances and well maintained. The host was great and very quick on responses. If ever in the area again we will definitely stay there again. It was cool checking out the unique house.

Total Relaxation

The house is in the perfect setting to get away and just be! Our family came to enjoy some college football. After the game, we returned to the house and played games, watched movies, read, and had supper. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of space to be, and everything mentioned in the listing was as advertised. Amazing Property

The property was perfect for our weekend wedding. The venue was only 6 miles away in Oskaloosa. Everyone was pleased with the amenities of the house. We were all intrigued by the straw bale architectural design. The only drawback was my daughter’s allergies kicked in.

Enjoyed our stay. We have a group of 4 couples that stay close to Perry Lake every year. We played Foosball, ping pong, corn hole and created our own par 3, four hole golf course. We had no issues with the property.

Cool, unique place in a quiet country setting

This house worked perfect for our our group of five but easily could have accommodated many more with its three main bedrooms and third floor with two queen and two single beds. It was exactly as it appears in the listing. The house is big and spacious and very unique with its straw bale construction. We had everything we needed and enjoyed just hanging out and playing games. We highly recommend this house.

Awesome place for a family!

Everything was really great. The house was clean. Check in was a breeze. The game room downstairs was a hit with everyone
we had a ping pong tournament. Waking up to deer in the field was nice. And the host was very responsive. My sister-in-law left her glasses, and the host is mailing them to her. Just tremendous service all around. We’ll definitely go back in the future.

Amazing Getaway to the Kansas Countryside

The property is breathtaking, comfortable, incredibly spacious, and just so well-equipped. The fact that it is a strawbale home makes it all the more interesting. We loved the many photos, prints and maps, representing Kansas and the area. The space allows you to choose to cozy up in the den, spread out across 4 floors or take in the greatness of the open space surrounding, from one of the decks. We had a few friends join for a brunch. The open kitchen/living space lends very well to this type of gathering. If it were a little warmer, we would have spent more time on the sunporch and grounds. Another visit! All ages enjoyed the basement game room. Many rounds of ping-pong and foosball were played! Honestly, it was difficult to leave the peace and quiet on the day we checked out. The aesthetics were so pleasing and inviting. Despite the fact that we live just 20-30 minutes away, we will be back. Highly recommend!

WARNING: Owners give excessive claims!

I was having a pleasant experience. We cleaned the property right before checkout to make sure everything was in order. 1 week later, I receive a charge of almost one thousand dollars! They gave beyond excessive claims for "damages". Please be very careful with these hosts. I hope no one goes through what they are currently putting us through. Please look for other properties in the area; I'm sure you'll find a better dollar value as well!

Family Christmas Gathering

We were so impressed with this property, we are trying to come up with an excuse to stay again! The property was amazing and perfect for a family Christmas. We cooked Christmas dinner and did our Christmas baking together. The kitchen was VERY WELL equipped with top notch appliances and stocked with all the basics a much more. Annie, the property host was very responsive and accommodating. Our stay was perfect in every respect.
