Spent the weekend in Philly for a Metallica concert. This was convenient to the subway and Reading Terminal Market. Friendly staff. Little sketchy outside at night, but hotel can't help that. They had security at the door and needed to scan your room card to get inside. My wife and I felt safe once we got inside. Would stay again.

The area is unique, felt safer with a security guard outside of the building. Downside, my room (722) had an alarm clock that needs replaced as the knob to change the time is missing and the time is incorrect. Also the drain in shower is clogged. Because of this the tub is extremely slippery and a hazard.

I was surprised they did not have mattress protectors/pads, just a fitted sheet on a bare mattress, which was stained. They did bring me extra sheets to layer over the mattress upon request, but suggest they consider adding waterproof mattress pads to protect their mattresses and guests. Otherwise, a comfortable stay in a great location next to the Reading Market and China town. Easy 10-20 min walk to historic sites like the town hall, the famous Love sculpture, and museums. Lots of different kinds of restaurants to choose from in walking distance - we went to Xanadu (Thai fusion) for dinner which was delicious. The parking lot next to the hotel was $40 for 24 hours. While it’s private (not owned by the hotel), this seemed to be more reasonable than other lots downtown. Considering the hotel was also more reasonably priced than other downtown hotels, even with parking the total value was still very good.
