Fabulous Family Getaway

There were 13 people in our party. The house was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen and common areas (both inside and out) were sufficient for gatherings and family dinners. We loved the convenience of the pools and the ocean within steps of each other. Our experience was fantastic.

The Good and the not so Good

The location is fantastic. The pool area and porch was fantastic. View was wonderful. The house was very neat and clean. The house suffers from some neglect in the kitchen area mostly. The recommended chef Roman and his helper Karen were wonderful for 6 nights.

Great location but poorly appointed and bad service

For the price of the home we were extremely disappointed. We’ve rented on vrbo nearly every year with family for over 15 years and this was by far our worst experience overall. The home was listed as 10 bedrooms but was actually a 9 bedroom. And 1/3 bedrooms are in a basement with almost no windows!! But we couldn’t get a house layout from broker who pretty much answered emails or calls when she felt like it and only answered questions she felt like) Furniture is broken broken (a. seating in tv area had broken springs sticking up!!! b. 3 of 12 dining rooms chairs wobbly, all of the stools had ripped seat covers), kitchen poorly appointed (4 mixed sized wine glasses for a house that sleeps 20? No serving bowls, cheap silverware, useless corkscrew). Our flights were delayed (some traveled 35+ hours) to be met by a house manager who complained he had been waiting a few hours for us. Even our rental car guy who waited at airport gave us beers to cheer us up for our delay — but not our $40k plus house rental! As a “courtesy” they supply some toilet paper (half a roll in some rooms!). Our requests for help both from broker and then on premise were ignored mostly (wifi doesn’t work? Too bad. Lights flickering in tv area. Who cares. etc etc). It’s too bad because it’s a great location. But service and house from the moment we paid our deposit to when we left was subpar and definitely not worth the premium charged. We recommend you visit St Maarten but stay elsewhere.

Best place to stay

We had a party of 14 (7 couples) stay at this house. It was the best vacation of our lives. We all loved this place so much. The beach was beautiful. The water was nice but has waves like the Jersey shore. Not so bad. The house itself is top notch. The manager of the house (Mr. Miller) was very attentive and helped with anything we needed. If you need other cars for your stay, we rented from Coastal Car Rentals. definitely the least expensive. We rented 2 Ford Explorers and they were very nice and exactly what we needed. We also hired a chef for one night. What a great thing. I only wish we had hired him for 2 nights. Everything on the island is within a half hour (unless during high traffic times). Nothing took longer then 45 minutes to get to. This house definitely exceeded all expectations. A fun time was had by all.

First Class!

Having rented vacation homes for our family for many years, we've had mostly good and occasionally marginal results. With no hesitation we can say that our family of 13 had our best and most memorable experience ever at Casa Sunshine. From booking to checkout, the people, process, location, home, and and on-site service exceeded our expectations. Thank you to all who made our holiday so wonderful!

Luxury living at its finest

Our family of 12 stayed at this beautiful villa and we had a stellar experience. Our rental experience was very smooth as the owner worked with us on every question we had and also provided us some amazing suggestions on things to do on the island. The Villa itself is extremely large an offer seven private bedrooms east each with its own bathroom. We did not have an issue deciding on which bedroom people chose as they are all very luxurious and similar in nature. To me, the best part of the Villa experience is that it is a new property and is in absolute perfect condition paired with being directly on the ocean.

GREAT HOUSE

This was a great Vacation home. We had 5 couples stay and had more than enough room. Mr. Miller, who runs the house, came by several times during our stay to check on us. One evening one of the AC units went out, we called him, and he had an AC company there in 30 minutes to fix it. Super Service!!! The location of the house, in proximity to the rest of the island is just superb. All of us said this was one of our best vacations ever, and we will all be back!
