Check in - late. Cleaners still there because previous tenants took off with key(?) no front door key for us in the 11 days we were there. Also, garage door opener for car wasn’t working. According to online vrbo ad, 3 days between tenants for thorough cleaning - Covid. Untrue.
Dishwasher broken? Or just inadequate. Smelled vile and I had to wash every plate glass flatware with a Brillo pad to get the film off after using the dishwasher to clean them. Texted owner/manager about it. No reply. The rest of the visit, hand washed everything.
Inadequate seating. Says it will accommodate 10 guests. That would require bringing in the deck furniture for seating.
Lightbulbs burned out everywhere.
Keurig coffee pot broken.
Final straw - on April 10 the air conditioner broke. We were able to locate the fuse box in the garage (rather inaccessible because of all the cupboards, cook tops, etc stored there). The circuit breakers were fine. Texted owner instantly. Still have had NO RESPONSE. so we departed on April 11 rather than April 12. Texted manager. NO RESPONSE.
Also, if you look at the pictures posted on the VRBO site you will see a pool table in garage. Not there.
There is no renters manual in this unit. It would have been very helpful - especially since Manager/owner makes himself so inaccessible. I have rented VRBO for many years and have never been in a unit without renters instruction booklet. Since you charge for your service, you really ought to keep an eye on your rental providers. If this weren’t such an unhelpful manager/owner I would have expected at least a I night rent refund for the air conditioning episode. More like 2 nights refund since the unit wasn’t ready on time for check in either. Although the complex is fabulous, I have to say this unit borders on shabby - certainly not 5 star as advertised. After this disappointing experience I will think long and hard before going through VRBO for a vacation rental again.
And also, I notified the manager/owner before we were arriving that the pet would not be coming. And requested the pet cleaning fee be refunded. Again NO Response. And no refund.
