In winter, you are within minutes of the ski resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun with a total ski area (Ski Alpin Card) of 408 kilometres together with ski circus Saalbach-Hinterglemm, which offer a wide range of slopes for both beginners and advanced skiers. After an active day in the snow, relax at one of the nearby ski huts for a traditional meal and a hot mulled wine or at the Tauern Spa in Zell am See/Kaprun.

Culture buffs also get their money's worth here: nearby Kaprun has an impressive medieval castle, while Zell am See welcomes you with cosy streets, boutiques and atmospheric lakeside cafés. The area also offers exciting activities for the whole family, such as tobogganing, summer toboggan runs, and paragliding. An aeroplane flight over the glacier, the mountains and the valley is also one of the possibilities from Zell am See airport. In summer, besides several swimming pools, the natural/swimming lake in Niedernsill is a great place to swim. This lake also offers many play-attributes for both older and smaller children. Mittersill also has a swimming lake and padel and tennis courts. With the local train that runs between Zell am See and Krimml, you can reach the largest waterfalls in Europe, the Krimml waterfalls, which of course can also be reached by car. In Kaprun you can walk through a beautiful gorge, the Sigmund Thun Klamm, with waterfalls, which can also be visited in the evening and is then illuminated. In summer, Zell am See also offers a water show on the lake (The Magic Lake Show) several nights a week. What is also a wonderful experience is a visit to the Kaprun reservoirs which can be reached by shuttle bus, but also by the so-called Lärchwand inclined lift.
