Well up together. Clean. Plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the food for most parts of the day. This hotel is up the road from the train station. Excellent.

Everything was great. The room was excellent. The food was amazing. With nice big plate fulls 😊 Staff were on top of all our needs. Only one complaint. Cashless. I'm not a fan of cashless businesses. Apart from that. The McKays Hotel and Restaurant was well worth it. Highly recommend 👌

Very impressed when I stepped through the doors of McKays hotel. It was lovely and warm and cosy with traditional festive decorations on display. Check in was good with the nice young lady booking my time in for breakfast too. She also asked if I was aware I had booked my room for the annexe opposite, I did know this, but she just wanted to make sure I was okay with this, nice touch. When I entered the annexe I was bowled over on how beautiful it was. The property appears to have had a dramatic makeover the public areas were bright. freshly decorated and fitted with luxurious deep lush carpet. My room although a tad on the small side was exquisite with quality furniture and fixtures. The bathroom blew me away and contained huge fluffy towels and expensive local toiletries. Breakfast consisted of self service cereals, yoghurt, bread, pastries, hot and cold drinks. There was about 10 different hot options to suit all tastes, and it was so nice to be served this at your table. I choose the traditional scottish which consisted of top notch ingredients cooked to perfection, faultless, best haggis ever. Property and staff were all amazing lot's of effort put in and it shows.

Fantastic little gem of a hotel. Immaculate rooms, super comfy bed, great powerful shower. The breakfast was yummy and the staff were fab. 100% will be back and highly recommend. My feedback for a teeny improvement - the toilet seat didn’t fit and was too small but still perfectly presented and immaculately clean 😃 Thank you

Room was nice and clean, a little difficult to plug in phones and such. Not a big deal. Accommodations were fine overall. Very unique hotel as we had to go up different flights of stairs and through NINE doors to get into our room. Became a bit of a game. The staff was very nice. The only negative (which did not cause an issue) was that the TV was not connected to a Wi-Fi network (tried unsuccessfully to connect) so could not get into Netflix. No way to call the front desk as there are no phones in the room and my cellular doesn’t like UK numbers. I didn’t want to trek through the maze to reception either. Probably for the best as we decided to read instead. That said, I do recommend this hotel.

The room w2as a good size, however the location was directly above the fans for the heating system. these fans ran on and off all night not much sleep! The food was good and there was live music in the bar later.

On the surface, lovely hotel and bar. Our room was really nice - we paid for a bigger room and it was spacious. Everything is in a very good state of repair and really clean. However, it was directly above the bar, and so I only got about 5 hours sleep between the end service at the bar and the 5am restocking of the cellar. There is no advance warning of this! So, ask for a room away from the pub and you will be fine. Breakfast was ok, plenty of it, nothing special. Staff varied from nice to pretty grumpy. Central location was good too. On balance, i would stay here again, just request a quieter room.

Bed very uncomfortable, like sleeping on a slab, room decor was a bit tired, bathroom was very small, water pressure in the shower was poor and the sink was about the size of a soup bowl. The staff were very nice and breakfast was pretty good. Wouldn't visit again.
