Nice older house with a lot of rustic charm. Beautiful location/views. Plenty of room for our family, including two little ones. Susan was an attentive host and our stay for the holidays was comfortable and fun!
Stayed here for a long weekend with family for my daughters wedding at The Mountain Top. This farmhouse had beautiful views and plenty of space! The host provided everything we could possibly need. The weekend was perfect! I would highly recommend this place!
The setting was beautiful. The house is very homey and charming. It is well equipped. The view from the porch is spectacular. Susan is very easy to relate to and responds quickly to any problems. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Unfortunately, our trip was for a somber occasionâthe passing of a young family member. During such a difficult time, we were seeking a place that could provide a brief escape from the heavy emotions our family was experiencing. We wanted a space where we could gather, share a meal, and offer some comfort and relief to those grieving. We hosted an after-wake dinner, and the house we chose exceeded all of our expectations.
The home itself was more than spacious enough for our family and radiated the charm of a classic Vermont farmhouse, with breathtaking views to match. Its serene and welcoming atmosphere provided the perfect setting for a momentary reprieve from the sadness we were facing.
The host was truly exceptionalâshe completely understood the delicate nature of our situation and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. She offered thoughtful suggestions on local catering services and ensured we had plenty of seating for everyone. Her kindness and willingness to help made a meaningful difference during a very tough time.
I can't recommend this house and its host highly enough. The combination of the beautiful setting and the hostâs care and consideration provided exactly the comfort and peace we needed.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Mountain Top Resort is only 4 miles away (attended wedding there). We found the house as advertised - plenty of space for 6 adults. The tv room is full of history books. Big back yard to explore & view from the porch was beautiful.
Quiet well-preserved farmhouse conveniently located for exploring central Vermont. Beautiful view of the mountains from the porch. About a half hour from Killington and Okemo ski resorts. Close to several parks with lakes for swimming. Property owner is pleasant and very responsive.
We were in town for a wedding at Mountain Top and this house was wonderful for our crew of 4 adults and 3 kiddos ages 2-6. Wish we had more downtime to enjoy a drink on the western porch!
We loved the house and property, perfect for our size of family. We enjoyed walking around in the back and front yard and playing games on the grass. The view is beautiful.
Everything went smoothly with the whole process. We enjoyed the living room for a comfortable space for our group to meet, the sleeping accommodations worked and we had what we needed for eating. We would be happy to come back again!
This was the ideal place for us to drive towards the eclipse, and yet not be right there where we would have to pay exorbitant prices. The farmhouse was spacious and comfortable. The place sleeps 8, but the 5 of us were very happy all having our own beds.
The hostess, Mary, was responsive to my phone calls, giving me much info needed for the area.
A beautiful location. I would highly recommend this place.
The farmhouse was comfy and homey! Our family loved having the space to relax and enjoy each other. Views are spectacular from any room or porch. Highly recommended! Susan made check in and check out a breeze. Thank you for that.
This is a beautiful old house with up to date amenities. The views are beautiful and it's out of the way enough to be quiet, but a short drive to stores, restaurants and entertainment.
Pretty views and traditional country farmhouse that is private but still very close to skiing, MountainTop Inn and all the conveniences of downtown Rutland. Spacious rooms and the host is a lovely and very helpful person. Only critiques would be that the master bathroom shower could use an upgrade and the tv-watching couch could be larger.
Overall very lovely property!
Susan was an extremely helpful host and even set up a port-a-crib and had gates secured for my two young grandchildren. My son was getting married only a few miles away from her home and it was so convenient. The home was charming and I highly recommend this accommodation! Thank you for everything, Susan.
Sincerely, Lisa
We stayed during MLK weekend to ski at Killington. The house was perfect for our small group of two families. The kids enjoyed the board games, and we spent a lot of time sitting around the fireplace to relax after our ski sessions. The house was very cozy and Susan was great in providing instructions. Thankfully we didnât need to contact her for any needs during our stay because everything was set up perfectly. We will definitely look to book this house again when we plan our next visit to Killington.
We were a little early for peak leaf viewing, but t's
hard to time. Got better while we were there. The night sky from the back yard was awesome. As was the view of the valley from the deck.
Close to Rutland and restaurants. About 2 hours from Stowe, shorter to Waterbury (Benn and Jerry's).
Overall a great trip.
