Disappointingly dirty and very basic

The unit was comfortable but not very hygenic. The couch smelt sweaty and was covered in long blonde hairs. A rotting bird carcus was also found behind the bbq.The listing is also inaccurate and requires updating. There is no wifi as advertised and you'll need to provide your own bedsheets and towels. The oven and stove was not working during our stay which added to the inconvenience. The listing also highlights a smart TV as a feature however without wifi, the smart features of the tv are not available. The check-in process wasn't as smooth as expected. Access code and access instructions to the property were not provided prior to our arrival resulting in an hour wait for the host to send the instructions.If you book this property, be aware that it is extremely basic, the listing is inaccurate and you may need to perform some cleaning on arrival. In addition, ensure that you receive access instructions on the morning of your arrival as the host may not get back to you immediately.

The property needs to be maintained as the whole time stays experienced with a horrible smells from the laundry room/toilet. We had to put covers of the drainage. No lights at the front door or maybe broken. Won’t be back!

Basic but clean and comfortable

The property and facilities were very minimalist/basic but everything was clean and worked well. Would have been good to have more heating for a winter stay and a towel rail would also have been useful! Nothing provided in the way of tea/coffee etc. and not quite sure why fitted sheets weren't provided when pillows/cases, quilt covers and blankets were.

traumatic stay

We booked this place just one day before our stay. Initially, everything seemed fine. However, upon our arrival at the house, we encountered some troubles. Firstly, we couldn't locate the key because we hadn't received any instructions regarding its whereabouts, except for the lock code. Anyway it turned into a bit of an adventure for the kids to explore the house and eventually find it. Upon entering, we were met with a disappointing sight. The house was uncleaned,beds were dirty and stinky, uncleaned toilets, and numerous empty alcohol cans littered the balcony. Sensing that something was amiss, I attempted to contact the owner, Mark, but received no response to my calls or texts. I was willing to discuss the situation with him, understand what had happened, and even offered to clean the house myself and proceed with our stay. However, after receiving no reply, we made the decision to leave and find alternative accommodation. Unfortunately, there were no available options on Stayz for the same day, but luckily, we managed to secure another place through a different platform. Later, Mark reached out to explain the situation, citing that he was traveling from a distance and that the state of the house was a mistake made by the cleaner. He also kindly offered a refund upon providing him with a screenshot of our new booking, which I promptly provided. However, to date, there has been no refund, nor any response to my message. The case is on Stayz custumer service now.

Fishing week retreat

Nice rear deck, good size living room and sofa with a wood fire. All beds were comfy & Mark was easy & good to deal with. Walking distance to the pub and convenient to fishing locations. The 'Stay' is highly recommended.

I’m so grateful to have rented this house. It’s very spacious, very clean and tidy. Everything is provided, including a water filter. The owner is also very friendly and helpful. It gave our family a wonderful memory. We will definitely come again.
