Great property and location but honestly please replace the double bed itâs disgusting you can actually feel the springs and it smells, the property could do with a freshen up, the carpets old and smelly and the bedding is the same, please freshen it up a bit.
From the key collection to the checkout this place was a disaster. Unclean / tardy and just a dud.
Great location and the other units are no doubt better value.
The pros are, the unit is spacious and has great views from both balconies and the staff at Elders provided a seamless check-in process with all the required info available.
The cons are, the unit is poorly maintained and equipped. Being located on a main road the eastern balcony, bedroom, and living areas are subjected to significant road noise. You'll need to take everything you need as not even the basics are supplied. No salt, pepper, sugar, etc. You will also need to factor in the cost and hassle of hiring linen the making beds on arrival.
The view from the unit is beautiful.
We have been coming to this unit for a number of years now (over 10 years). Unfortunately the furniture on the balcony has not been updated in all of these years, and every year we come the rust on the chairs is worse. You can not sit on the chairs. We have previously stained out towels with the rust from the chairs. We ended up buying 5 plastic chairs, so we could actually enjoy sitting on the balcony. We have left the chairs there, so that others can enjoy.
Also when we arrived, there was only 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper (for 5 people).
We were really looking forward to staying at this property for the Ironman as it looked great online.
Sadly it was not a great stay. We arrived to a tired and dirty looking property, with broken lamps, lumpy old mattresses, artwork lying on the floor, thread bare towels, and faded thin bedding. The kitchen had lots of crockery but lacked the basics for cooking a simple meal. The property had been cleaned, but it certainly did not look or feel that way. The outdoor areas were covered in dirt and the kitchen and bathrooms were not cleaned to a good standard.
After arriving to the unkempt unit we decided to head out and enjoy the beach as the unit is in a great location.
When we retuned after hours at the beach we discovered we had no hot water. It took three days for the hot water to be restored.
Itâs taken months for me to hear back from the property managers at Elders to learn that the property owners will not be compensating us for the lack of hot water or the filthy state in which we found the place.
We paid the same as other friends who stayed in the same building but the units they stayed in were clean and fitted out like a hotel room. Their units also included internet where this unit does not.
My advice is to stay at the Sandcastle Apartments it NOT this unit. There are so many others available to rent.
Property was well presented and in an excellent location, communication with Elders lifestyle group was great.
One small improvement would be to indicate where parking garage was located( basement or next level).
Will be staying again and recommending for others to stay,
Thank you for presenting an such excellent accommadation
This was a great place to stay, spacious, great views, close to town and beach one of the nicest places in Port. Was pleasantly surprised walking into unit that the blue lounge and blue rug have been replaced from the one in the photos giving it a more modern look. We loved the unit and would definitely stay there again it was great for a couple though the two rooms at the back could do with a touch up the furnishings were very dowdy and the mattress on the double bed looked awful to sleep on, strange little prints hanging in funny places on wall and dodgy lamps in both bedrooms sitting on outdated bedside tables apart from the mattress a trip to Kmart could solve the issues at very little cost. Also we were unable to use the balcony as the drain was blocked and it was covered by a couple of centimetres of water that didnât dissipate the whole weekend.
These were minor problems that could be easily addressed to make this unit a 10 out of 10
Our family (2 adults, 3 young children) stayed in unit 407 Sandcastle in July 2021.
The unit easily accommodated our family, with room to spare! It was great to have two living areas: main dining/living room, and room between second and third bedrooms.
The views from the balcony and dining table were amazing. We loved being so close to Town Beach, and walking into the main city centre along the Breakwall (and painted rocks).
The undercover double garage was huge. (We have previously stayed in a Port Macquarie apartment which had a tiny garage and was troublesome for our larger SUV). Here our Ford Territory easily fit, probably with room for another small car. There are two carparks, with the 407 garage located in the UPPER carpark. (We unsuccessfully drove around the lower carpark first for a few minutes before working this out!).
The only minor downside was that the kitchen was missing a few standard items e.g. tongs, large cutting knife, salt, oil, baking paper. This was a very minor issue compared to the great location and views!
