Dog-Friendly · Gulf Beach Townhome · Sleeps 8
There's a particular philosophy baked into the name Turtle Crawl. Go slow. Take it all in. Don't rush the sunset. This dog-friendly end-unit townhome in the gated Barrier Dunes community was built for exactly that kind of vacation â and it delivers more features per square foot than anything else in the collection. A tiki bar at the ground level for evening entertaining. High-top Polywood bar seating on the main deck for watching the Gulf from above. An electric fireplace for cool-evening ambience. A king master suite with garden tub, daybed with trundle, and private Gulf-view deck. A guest room with a full-size twin-over-queen bunk that grown adults can actually sleep in. Granite throughout. LVP floors for easy beach-house living. And a stone walkway off the back deck leading directly to the beach access â just 75 steps away. Turtle Crawl. Move at the right pace.

A day at Turtle Crawl has its own natural rhythm and it tends to move at exactly the pace the name suggests. Morning coffee at the bay window seat or the high-top deck table, the Gulf catching the early light. The beach is 75 steps down a stone walkway off the back â load up from the stocked closet and head out when you're ready. Afternoons split between the surf, the community pool, and the easy-clean LVP floors back inside, the electric fireplace on if the day turns cool. But the real magic of Turtle Crawl is the evening: the tiki bar at ground level comes into its own as the sun drops, the high-top deck chairs above hold whoever wants the elevated view, and the king master suite garden tub waits for whoever needs the longest wind-down. Cape San Blas is one of Florida's most precious sea turtle nesting beaches â named for the slow, deliberate crawl those ancient animals make from water to sand to nest. This is the vacation version of that same wisdom. Slow down. You're at Turtle Crawl.
The main level is granite-finished, LVP-floored, and open-concept â a well-equipped kitchen with hutch for extra grocery storage, breakfast bar with two barstools, dining room, living room with electric fireplace and queen sleeper sofa, bay window seat, and a large Gulf-view deck with gas grill and high-top Polywood bar seating. The twin-over-queen adult-size bunk room with its own private balcony and full bath is on this level â flexible for families with kids or adult groups who need the extra capacity.

My family enjoyed at stay at the condo. It was located conveniently to the beach and pool. Not a far drive to the handful of restaurants and markets on the cape.
I can not say enough good things about this property...from location, to cleanliness, to how well appointed the villa is. Our favorite things about Turtle Crawl were the balconies & views!, the short walk to the beach, the provided items in the beach closet (especially the chairs and beach cart), the outdoor shower with hot water (for super easy pet cleaning after a day romping in the sand), and the credit that came with the reservation to rent bikes. The villa is not lacking in anything at all. And Devi...SO QUICK to respond to questions and help us with finding items we couldn't find (due to our lack of looking, not that items weren't there). It was the perfect place to end 2024 (we had a NYE fire on the beach!!!) and hope to return!
Our family booked this condo last minute for a quick holiday weekend getaway -Veteran's Day and are so thankful it was available! The beach was a very short walk as the condo is the third or fourth building from the beach. Our grandsons enjoyed the beach and the pools that were also located within walking distance as well. The condo was cute, comfy and had all the household necessities in the kitchen. Our stay was very short so we didnât cook any big meals.
Location was perfect for us. The State Park entrance was right around the corner and we enjoyed exploring one morning there. We stopped in Port St Joe and shopped and ate lunch. Cute little town with boutiques and eateries etc.
we would stay here again in the future.
Very relaxing and laid back. Itâs not over crowed and most people who stay here are super nice. Our townhouse didnât have wine glasses or a cutting board which we discovered the first night we were there. I sent an email to the management company to let them know ( for future renters) and they delivered the glasses and cutting board the next morning! We couldnât have had a better experience!
This is a gated community with beach access that is very close. Everything was very clean. Even though we had a red or purple flag most of our stay it was still worth every penny. We will definitely be back. â€ïž
We had 7 perfect days!! The weather was incredible both day and night. We loved all the restaurants in Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe. This place was paradise. Turtle Crawl was fabulous. đđ Canât wait to return.
We started our stay on Christmas Day 2022 during the hard freeze in FL. Property owners were great and easy to reach. The condo has fantastic views of the gulf from the master balcony and just steps away from the beach. The pup loved her beach walks and lounging on the decks keeping an eye on all the activities. We obtained a 3 day fishing license and caught a couple fish on one of the calm water days from the beach. There is also a seafood market near by with fresh fish and yummy gumbo! We loved this location and will be back again!
We will absolutely be back! This home provided everything we needed to just relax and enjoy the beach. Wendy emailed links to her amenities (which are wonderful) and everything was just as described. Being from a place that we don't have beach chairs it was nice not to have to invest in those or pack a bunch of extra things when we had a full car.
Barrier Dunes was a great community and we enjoyed both the pools and tennis courts and feeding the turtles in the ponds. Met a lot of wonderful folks staying there too.
It was just what the doctor ordered! Relaxing and fun! We enjoyed a horseback ride on the beach, beautiful sunsets, some surf fishing, great seafood and each other!
Highly recommend Wendy and Cape Escape Vacation Rentals! We look forward to being back again soon!
Love the beach and loved Turtle Crawl. We will definitely be back!
We enjoyed a wonderful week with amazing weather at Cape San Blas! Turtle Crawl was better than expected...VERY clean and had everything we could expect and more.
The beach closet had a great beach cart and beach chairs (saved buying them and packing them) and a cooler (and sand toys if you need them). We cooked many of our meals in and the kitchen was great...had everything we needed and a gas grill on the back deck. Really liked the St. Joe Seafood Company right down the street! It's right next door to the Trading Post which carries EVERYTHING else you need. If you're there, get the donuts made fresh each morning. Amazing!
We really enjoy the tall lifeguard chairs on the master bedroom deck...enjoyed great sunsets when we didn't walk just a few steps down to the beach. The mattress was very comfortable and the sheets were great!
The State Park is right there and we went on many long walks. There is the Hammock Trail and a trail that runs along the bay that our dog could enjoy with us. Our pup was worn out from that and walks on the beach ... love the fact that the beach and area is dog-friendly (yet VERY clean).
We also got to enjoy a bonfire on the beach after sunset one evening! Awesome. Next trip we plan to enjoy a horseback ride on the beach, the see through canoes in the bay and also bring our bikes as there is a bike path that runs about 10 miles of the Cape (and it's flat, which is a bonus).
Love the beach and loved Turtle Crawl. We will definitely be back!
