The Space:
#StayInMyDistrict St. Johns Bungalow. Our Spacious home is the perfect choice for your next Portland Metro, North Portland vacation. Located just a couple of blocks from the Willamette River, you are within walking distance of some of the area’s most popular attractions such as the famous Cathedral Park, home of the annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival which is the longest-running free jazz festival west of the Mississippi! As well as walking distance from the one of the most beautiful and photogenic bridges in the country, the iconic St John’s Bridge! Walkable to downtown St. John’s where you can hobnob with the locals, there are several dining and shopping options for you to choose from. There is a parking space in the driveway, and additional FREE street parking!

At home enjoy a glass of beer or wine on the covered front porch or have your morning coffee, or an afternoon BBQ on the private back patio! Home features lots of large unobstructed windows that create a warm and open feeling while embracing the Sunshine or watching the rain fall, these rooms bring the feeling of the outdoors in. This is the pacific northwest after all. This remodeled home is spacious, comfortable, clean with modern furnishings and a plethora of additional amenities making this the perfect Portland Metro getaway!
The Main Level Living area has a large comfortable sectional with plenty of seating, and a cozy electric remote-controlled fireplace for ambience or when the weather outside forces you into cozy up to the warmth. Extra-large flat screen Smart TV set up for Roku streaming with WIFI. Light blocking shades on the south facing windows can be drawn to TV viewing. Relax and enjoy an evening catching up on your favorite episodes or snuggle in and read a book while enjoying the fireplace.

The Modern kitchen has everything needed to make it that functional home away from home with stainless appliances, built in microwave, gas stove, pot filler, dishwasher and plenty of cabinets to store your food items. The large island makes eating and preparing food efficient and enjoyable, open to the rest of the main level, with open views of the outdoors. The amazing stone countertops carry the modern vibe and perfect for entertaining your group. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, cookware, doodads for cooking and dishes. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner seated at the dining table with seating for 6 or simply sit at the bar with 6 comfortable stools. There is also an alternate bar area separate from the kitchen that serves as a separate serving area, stone countertops, glassware and a mini fridge. Make that morning cup of coffee or serve up an icy beverage!

Off the bar area there is a full-sized laundry room with a stacking washer & dryer.

The Main Level Master bedroom is oversized and features a Comfortable King-sized bed with high quality cotton linens and comfy pillows, and blankets. There are two large dressers as well as end tables for guests’ personal items. There is also a rolling bar for hanging clothes. **OWNER’S CLOSET IS LOCKED FOR OWNER’S PERSONAL USE** Windows bring in sunshine and this room has blinds can be drawn for privacy. Ample lighting and a remote-controlled ceiling fan.

Luxuriate in the ensuite bathroom which boasts a wet room with 2 rain shower heads and 1 handheld shower head, and a deep soaking tub to relax. Fully Tiled with modern design. Large dual vanity ensures plenty of space for guests’ personal items. This ensuite is stocked with quality linens, Shampoo, Conditioner, and hairdryer all provided for your convenience. Ensuite has enclosed toilet room for privacy.

A main level powder room is conveniently located off the living room area and features a handwashing station w/hand soap provided as well as a toilet.

On the 2nd level there is a Spacious family room has 1 full pullout couch that can be laid out for comfort, or for an additional sleeping area. This space is a great place for a movie night and features a TV set up with ROKU. It is also a great space for kids to play and spread out with child sized chairs, and a small assortment of children's books & toys. Large unobstructed windows let in morning sunlight and brightness.

The 1st upstairs bedroom features a comfortable Queen bed with comfy pillows and cotton linens and blankets. A large dresser is available for guests’ personal items. A large unobstructed window lets in plenty of light. This room also has a workstation, and the room can be used as a workspace to set up your laptop and use as a workspace. There is also a very large closet with drawers, shelves and hanging space for guests’ personal items.

The 2nd upstairs bedroom is large and features a Comfortable King bed with comfy pillows and high-quality cotton linens and blankets. There is a large chest of drawers and 2 nightstands for guests’ personal items. Both nightstands have reading lamps for those who enjoy a late night read. Large unobstructed south facing windows let in plenty of daytime light, and stargazing at night. There is also a very large closet with drawers, shelves and ample hanging space for guests’ personal items.

The 2nd level bath is located by the King bedroom and features a bathtub/shower combo separated by a pocket door then, two separate vanities, and plenty of space for guests’ personal items. Fully stocked with quality linens, Shampoo, Conditioner, and a hairdryer are also provided for your convenience.

The large fully enclosed backyard is perfect for sitting around a cozy wood fire chimney and enjoying a glass of wine or having smores with the kids! (bring your own wood or grab some at the grocery store) Outdoor sofa & loveseat, and Adirondack chairs make this a great space to lounge on a nice evening. There is a large outdoor dining table and chairs w/ seating for (8) and a gas BBQ Grill. This outdoor space is the perfect place to relax and unwind! There is also a small grassy area in the backyard, a playhouse with a slide, kid sized chairs & a kids picnic area. The garden has seasonal herbs and vegetables. Guests are welcome to enjoy any of the herbs or seasonal vegetables.

The front door is glass and looks out onto the front porch and yard, the large porch is covered with comfortable seating & a bistro table with a table top fire bowl. The front yard is fully fenced with a 3 foot fence.

There is a parking space in the driveway, owner travels and has White truck in the driveway, feel free to block it in during your stay. There is additional FREE street parking. Garage is NOT included and locked for Owners Personal Items.

**PLEASE NOTE: This home has a private and separate occupied basement apartment. This is a separate space and does NOT share a yard or any other areas of the property. The guest apartment is accessed via the driveway along the side of the house.

The Neighborhood:
The home is in the heart of the historic "St Johns" neighborhood, in Portland OR. This neighborhood is a local favorite and a great place to experience the heart and soul of one of Portland’s favorite neighborhoods. The river and Forest Park to the West, Downtown Portland to the South, you will be in the center of the action! St Johns boasts quaint little coffee shops, restaurants and unique shopping. There are a variety of restaurants, pubs, breweries, candy/ice cream shops, bike shops, and a convenience store within 5 blocks of the home. Just across the bridge from Portland’s iconic Forest Park with miles of single-track running, hiking and mtn biking trails. Within an easy walk of the park, visitors can beat the heat with a summery kolsch in the airy tasting room of the Euro-inspired Occidental Brewing. The Forest Park trail system connects all the way to NW Portland and Washington Park, home of the Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden and the Rose Garden. Only a 10-minute drive to Downtown and 20-minute drive to the PDX Airport. St Johns is an eclectic North Portland neighborhood with its own town center and rich History. The neighborhood retains its small-town charm with its “Plaza” or town center, where events such as the weekly, Saturday market are held. Spring thru Summer the There is a local Farmers Market every Saturday. Annual St Johns Parade, St John`s Ale Fest and the Cathedral Park Jazz Fest are a must! Pack a picnic blanket for an afternoon in Cathedral Park, cross the picturesque St. Johns Bridge (Portland’s most photographed bridge), take a hike in Forest Park a massive urban wilderness perfect for a short or long hike. Get ready to explore a lovely, lesser-known side of Portland.

Getting Around:
St Johns is a few blocks from University of Portland, approx. 10 minutes to NW Portland/NW 23rd Neighborhood, and The Pearl District, less than 15 minutes to Downtown and Sauvies Island. Location is 20 min to PDX and to Vancouver WA. The neighborhood can easily be navigated without a car. The Bus or UBER is a good option if you don`t plan to bring a car. There is a bus stop within 2 blocks and it is easy to cycle or walk to local amenities. It is quite possible to never leave the neighborhood and have plenty to do and see! Once you get downtown you can use the MAX light rail to get all over Portland Metro

Don’t hesitate to book

We had such a great time and kept marveling at how nice this property is. Clean, spacious, incredibly well-appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, and a nice little backyard space. The commercial part of St. Johns is just a 12-minute walk away, where there are coffee shops, a vegan restaurant, a Korean restaurant, a cozy spot for handmade pasta, some bars, and a small movie theater. Sparrow Bakery is also about a 15-minute walk away. We did have a car, so we used that to explore other parts of Portland, like Belmont, the Pearl District, and the Rose Garden. If you’re looking to stay in North Portland this home is 10/10 and I hope to visit again.

Really good property in Portland

Very nice house, particularly the master bath is 👌. Everything is very clean and organized with a high end luxury feel. I slept in the master and didn’t have any issues. My guests slept upstairs and noted that the mattress thickness was a bit thin and firm but ymmv.
