The town is all hills and steps but this was a good spot 60-80 steps to the beach depending on the way you go.

Very nice property located close to ferry service. Staff very friendly. Delicious Italian style breakfast with great view, rooms very clean and comfortable beds. Definitely recommend staying here.

I can’t begin to say how wonderful this property was. Starting with the communication from Alfonzo prior to our arrival to arranging a porter on our last day. Every interaction was a pure pleasure. Our morning cappuccino in the dining room, overlooking the bay was always delicious. The staff was always helpful with a smile. I absolutely recommend this hotel. It is one of the last hotels at the bottom of the vertical city that is accessible by porter cart. We were very thankful for this the morning we left at 5:30am.

Exceptional Stay

My husband and I stayed at Villa La Tartana back in May of this year. We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The view from our balcony was beautiful! The property is in a perfect location where there is easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beach without excessive walking uphill. We will definitely be coming back to stay here in the future!

A hidden gem in the heart of Positano

A hidden gem! Beautiful hotel in the heart of Positano but away from the crowds. Loved the private balcony overlooking the harbor as well as the additional sunroom to enjoy the beautiful views from inside. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful.

This B&B is such a gem! It’s conveniently located by the ferry and beach, just a 2 min walk from the beach. The staff was so kind and friendly they made the stay absolutely wonderful especially as a solo traveler I would 1000% stay here again. The food was also very delicious and the staff was always ready to help. I love Villa La Tartana!

We visited Positano at the end of a two week tour around Italy. It was paradise and Villa La Tartana was such a beautiful place to stay. We were there for my husband’s birthday so I arranged with Alfonso to have a bottle of champagne waiting in the room and, even though I responded with short notice, he made it happen. The property and our room were beautifully decorated, clean, and very well maintained. Our ‘partial’ view of the water was hardly obstructed at all. We sat on our balcony and enjoyed watching the boats. The location was awesome too. Hubby and I roamed around Positano and it was quite hilly (as you can clearly see from pictures) but our villa was very close to the main beach and did not require a lot of effort to get to and from. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Our stay in Positano was made all the better by the hospitality at Villa La Tartana. Alfonso at the front desk tended to our every need and made sure our time was well spent. The accommodations were perfect for our family of four and the location just steps (lots of steps here) from the beach.

The staff here was super helpful and friendly- they arrange transport, setup tours, and were extremely attentive. Alfonso took care of everything for me and was amazing! That being said, the property itself is kind of dated. It’s giving 90s - core and the room we had was extremely small for the price.
