Location, Location! Just 10-minute drive to Historic Downtown Poulsbo where you can enjoy shopping, great dining options, breweries, wine tasting, waterfront strolling, museums and quaint coffee shops. We are also only a 5-minute drive to the Hood Canal Bridge where you can make your way over to the Olympic Peninsula for hiking, skiing, kayaking, shellfish harvesting, fishing, shrimping and crabbing, or go explore the Victorian town of Port Townsend. We are also 10 mins from the biking trails and historic town of Port Gamble.
What we offer has been described as a "rustic nest". We have a canvas wall tent, similar to a safari type tent on a wooden platform. A comfy queen size bed will all linens and down comforter. A futon sofa bed. A table and chairs. Basic cooking and eating amenities. A wood stove which is the sole source of heat inside the canvas cabin (it does keep it quite toasty in there). A solar powered battery bank for keeping your phone/laptop charged, and for running the string lights inside the listing. We do have wi-fi but PLEASE NOTE: it will not be sufficient streaming video or anything much more than being able to text and maybe talk, our cell reception is pretty minimal.
Separate from the canvas cabin is the bathhouse which holds a compost toilet (please read instructions on how to use) a propane powered shower, and a foot pedal sink.
You will be able to hear wildlife and farm animals from the listing. You will have 4 acres to walk around on and explore. A creek that flows nearby, and an abundance of 100+year old cedars, maples and firs that tower above you.
We have a separate fire pit area with seating that now has a propane fire pit, so you can continue to have a campfire during burn bans, which happen every summer at some point.
Our home is on the property, but it is over 250ft away from the listing and hidden up the hill.
Staying here is a lot like camping, yet without having to bring a tent, sleeping bags, etc.
Please make sure you know how to start a fire in a wood stove before staying here (YouTube has some great tutorials) as I will not always be available to assist with starting a fire
We do give our guests enough wood for at least the first night, we also sell bundles of wood for $5 if you would like to purchase more. Feel free to also pick up fallen branches and sticks from the property for wood burning.
