Our room was next to the lift. It wasn’t until we turned the lights off to sleep that we heard the noise of the lift every time someone used it. We were kept awake till 1am and then woken up at 5.30am by it. I thought about contacting reception but the thought of moving rooms in the middle of the night in my pjs was not an option.

Hot and noisy room, little sleep

Didn't feel four star to be honest. Restaurant evening meal was good, if pricey, but breakfast wasn't great. Our room was very hot on arrival, but did have printed instructions on how to work the thermostat. Sadly there wasn't a thermostat in our room, so we had to sleep on top of the duvet. Walls were very thin, and we got very little sleep thanks to the noise. I asked to move to a quieter room where we might get some sleep, but was told I'd have to pay another £25. Not impressed, and won't be back.

The hotel was very good and the overall experience was okay. Lobby bar was not great service. Restaurant food was good quality but overstaffed and very slow serving. Bedroom was very nicely set up but walls are very thin. Could clearly hear neighbors until 2am in the morning so not a good sleep and an early start for a long drive. Did not use spa facilities as was just a one night stay.

Essential R&R

Great welcome on arrival. Reception very busy but made my check-in as simple as possible. My visit was part of an extended business trip and the stay was a welcome R&R stop. Didn't get chance to use all the facilities on offer, but the restaurant provided a relaxing, enjoyable hour or so to unwind. Compliments to the Chef(s) the food was excellent and the attentive restaurant staff completed my dining experience. Will be making this venue a regular stop-over when I'm next in the area.

Pleasant stay but could do with some upgrading.

Stayed here before several years ago. The restaurant needs upgrading as it hasn’t changed and tables are old and worn. Older rooms are also looking dated.

A gem of a hotel

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last few years and they’ve had some renovations since I last stayed which look great. Friendly attentive staff, great food in the restaurant and very clean and tidy as always.

Perfectly fine, just very corporate. Looking at the name and the default picture on the listing made it seem more cozy, but the rooms are as pictured. The bathroom had outdated plumbing, but was clean. They had room service.

My friends and I lived the place. Very clean. Staff very professional but friendly. There were a common ice machine in the corridor and tea facilities in the room. Food was superb. We wished we were staying longer as it was so nice and peaceful. Would definitely use this hotel again. Thank you.

Standard rooms should be called budget.

I really didn't like my first room 201 it was.a standard rooms but for me it wasn't up to the price tag. It was too hot not enough power points.But I did get upgraded to the club house which is much nicer. I was also disappointed the swimming pool you have to pay per session. When I chose the hotel based on a swimming pool I expected to use all the time. As a result from what I saw in the gym the pool was mostly not used.

Convenient for a night whilst travelling north

Comfortable and convenient for breaking a trip north. The hotel is located within easy reach of the m6, providing a warm welcome, to the weary traveler. The room was fairly basic but comfortable. Breakfast was good.
