Hummingbird House is situated on the idyllic West coast of Barbados in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The whole house and gardens are detached, very private, secure and fully fenced. Lined with beautiful bougainvillea it is set amidst a gorgeous, colourful and immaculately landscaped garden with palm trees as well as a mango, lime and cherry tree. Sun-loungers surround the large private pool which is exclusively for your use. Hummingbird House is only accessible via our gated driveway, to which only the guest has the combination.
It’s just a 5 minute walk to the Caribbean Sea where water sports, picnic areas and restaurants can be found, as well as the local supermarket, chemist and deli. The house boasts 3 large air-conditioned bedrooms 2 with en-suite bathrooms. The master bedroom opens on to a balcony with seating and breathtaking views of the ocean. The ground floor offers a fully equipped kitchen as well as a laundry area. The large lounge and dining area with vaulted ceilings lead onto a covered veranda, which, with its great views of the gardens and the ocean, is ideal for Al fresco dining. There is also an outside play area for the children. A maid will visit each week to ensure you are comfortable and to change linens etc
 and a house manager will be on hand to meet and greet you and help with any questions or issues you may have throughout the duration of your stay. We are situated just a few minutes from Sandy Lane and their amazing golf course and just 10 minutes from Holetown heading North and Bridgetown to the South. There are a number of attractions available for adults and children alike, including swimming, jet skiing, scuba diving, boating, tropical island gardens, and catamaran trips... to name but a few.

It was an excellent 3 week stay. Jackie was there to greet us and provided her services through out our stay. Housekeeping,gardening and pool attention was weekly. Great location ,close to Jordans supermarket. Enjoyed fresh fish on the new bbq which Jackie provided .Second time staying here. Nice setup with pool and outdoor covered dining table.

We had a great time staying at the family-friendly villa and were very well looked after by the lovely manager Jackie, ably assisted by the wonderful Annette, Richard and anonymous pool guy who ghosts in and out brilliantly.We had everything we needed and the garden and pool are particularly excellent. The whole booking process was very smooth and we were met personally on arrival, which was a great stress relieverIt's a shame we had to leave, but am sure we will be back at some point !Thanks !!

Superb

I was sceptical when we booked, because the listing looked too good to be true. We needn't have worried, the house is perfect. The downstairs bedroom was ideal for our son, as he has mobility issues. It's comes with everything you could need, even laundry detergent! Annette the cleaner is a joy, the garden is immaculate, the pool, while showing some signs of age, was crystal clear, and great to cool down in after a day in the sun. The location is perfect for the west coast of the island, a car is recommended as there's a cheeky hill to get up from the main road Couldn't recommend it enough. Neil the host is very proactive and friendly, accommodating, even organised some shopping for us, very handy. Love it, we will be back

Hummingbird House

Hummingbird House is in a peaceful, relaxing and beautiful garden with great sea views and sunsets.The inside of the house however is very tired, Annette the house maid does a great job cleaning. Jackie the manager was very helpful, quick on hand to deal with any issues. We had several plumbing issues although we fixed the downstairs toilet ourselves on the first day and the front door lock was replaced immediately during our stay. The BBQ was unusable and had to be fixed by Richard the gardener (Richard does a great job with the garden), made a makeshift grill, the BBQ is old and one leg has a seashell to prop it up and although we were able to have several BBQ's it really needs replacing. The plastic table around the pool is old and weathered and there was no parasol, the pool area gets very hot with no shade so it would be good to have a parasol as pictured online.The pool was lovely but small blue tiles are coming off in the pool, the steps and bottom of the pool have erroded paint in many areas. Despite this we had a lovely holiday. We would highly recommend hiring a car for people who may find the hill steep.

Great property, Plenty of space to move around, Feel like being at home, we felt comfortable immediately. Lovely size pool and gardens. Great view of the sea and sunsets. I would advise hiring a car to get around, shopping, site seeing etc, we like that you can use UK plugs in the extension leads. We told friends & family about the property and pass on details, because they are interested in staying at Hummingbird house when they visit Barbados. Highly recommend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the garden and pool were amazing, all the staff were great - Jackie, Annette and Richard. Any small hiccup was dealt with very quickly and efficiently.if you don’t have a car, the hill could be a challenge - we are both in our 80s and could manage it! Many thanks for a great stay.

Manager, Jacqueline was very accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately a few members of our party contracted Dengue due to the excessive rain which is exceptional for January resulting in more mosquitoes that carried the virus. A suggestion would be to install screens on doors to minimize mosquitoes entering your beautiful home. Hummingbirds was a beautiful home. Having a pool was great.

Fantastic house in a great location

We stayed at Hummingbird House for 10 days in November and had a fantastic time. The house manager is lovely and very helpful, the house was perfectly clean with great A/C in the bedrooms, and the pool is fantastic. Loads of wildlife around you as you stay, great views and a good location for accessing the rest of Barbados! The house is a great location for accessing the West Cover and with a taxi you can get to places like Harrisons Cave within 20-30 minutes. If you're booking trips around the island with a transfer you can get picked up from Waves about five minutes walk away, there is also a well stocked supermarket within walking distance and both Bridgetown/Holetown are 10-15 minutes by taxi/car. There's a couple of bus stops within five minutes walk, the buses are regular and cheap to get around. There's a lovely beach at the bottom of the road, you can see the sea from the house and several excellent restaurants (La Cabane at Batt's Rock Beach, QB Bistro/The Cliff, and Il Tempio) within 15-20 minutes walk or a few minutes by car. You can go paddleboarding at Paynes Bay and I'd recommend the Submarine trip near Bridgetown!

Fantastic

Hummingbird House was exactly as described and shown in the photos. It was the perfect base for our holiday being near beaches, shops and facilities on the West Coast. It was equipped with more things (cool bags/ice packs, etc) than I have previously experienced in a rental to make self catering easier. The pool was brilliant for days we didn’t want to go to a beach and the villa had enough space for all of us to relax. We were well looked after by Jackie, she couldn’t have been more helpful, answering queries promptly and checking in on us regularly to make sure everything was fine. And her staff were friendly and polite. This will be our first choice if (when) we return to Barbados.

Perfection

Lovely villa with pool and gardens, in a quiet area which is Convenient for south and west coast. We hired cars for 2 weeks so easy to get about. Jackie the housekeeper is lovely and very attentive, alaso the cleaner Annette was a lovely lady. We were 2 mins drive from La Cabane where we spent a lovely evening food was perfect especially the lamb. We,ve been a few times to Barbados so had already done the usual sightseeing places. We know our favourite places now. But we hadnt been to Harbour Lights so decided to try it. So glad we did as we all enjoyed even our two granddaughters ages 5 and 7. The entertainers worked so hard to put on a show which we all enjoyed. Hoping to be back next year maybe for a longer stay.

Lovely villa with all amenities you could need.

Our stay at hummingbird was lovely. The villa has everything you need and has a beautiful garden and pool. It really felt like a home from home. The beds were so comfortable and air con was lovely at night. Jackie was amazing and was on hand if we ever needed anything. Full of knowledge and willing to help. We didn't need anything though as the villa is packed with everything you could need. Monkeys and chickens visited often, and the sunset view was lovely. We hired a car which was handy to get around, there is a bit of a hill to get to the villa but most people could manage it. The villa felt totally safe as well, not that we felt unsafe in Barbados though. Wonderful place and wonderful people. Would definitely return and would stay at the villa again if we did.

Relaxing stay at Hummingbird house

We enjoyed our holiday at Hummingbird house, our time was very calm and restful . We enjoyed the pool very much and spent some considerable time at the property just chilling out. Jackie the house manager was on hand at all times , a charming lady who provided as requested our first meal on arrival and an excellent goodie bag to get us going, inc 6 of the local beers ! I can highly recommend hummingbird house and hope to return again soon.

Perfect Location, accommodation and service !!

I just wanted to pass on my thanks from myself and the family for the stay at Hummingbird. We had a fabulous time – the villa was fantastically equipped – handy when Virgin break your pushchair on the way out ! We didn’t want for anything and Jackie and Annette were fabulous – truly made us feel at home. The gardening and pool team likewise – lovely people who did a great job. The location is superb and we felt safe at all times. We were truly sorry to leave but back to the real world until next time ! Thanks again to you and Jackie and please pass on our thanks and appreciation to the other team also.

Hummingbird House was lovely

House was very well equipped with all that you needed. Host greeted us when we got there, showed us around and how things worked, then called and checked on us about 3 days after being there. We enjoyed the private pool in the evenings, and sitting out on the patio. We rented a car, which made it easy to get around and explore, but when booking an excursion, they picked us up right at the house, which was very nice. It was cool to see the monkeys run thru the yard, when sitting out there. The only negative I can give is the crickets are loud at night, and the dog across the street, constantly barking. Otherwise I would highly recommend a stay here.
