Spacious is the best way to describe this 3 bedroom ground floor in the East Building of the Sonoran Sea. Many people become fans of ground floor rentals after their first experience. All of what makes the resort great is right outside of your patio sliding door.
Discover the beach, pools, restaurant and more at this popular and beautiful beachside getaway. Just outside of the gated parking are a number of good choices for entertainment. Banditos and Changes are known as great places to eat, drink, watch the game, or here regular live music. Garufa Steak House gets high marks as an upscale eatery.
This unit gives you the best of the Sonoran Sea Resort, as well as all that Rocky Point, has to offer.
Been traveling to Rock Point for over 30 years and this has to be one of my favorite places. Iâve stayed so far.. probably was clean and close to the beach
Perfect location right in front of the pool. Multiple resturants within walking distance. This is an older property but everything was clean and comfortable.
I have been coming to Rocky Point for 30 years, and staying at the Sonoran Sea pretty much since it first opened. I have stayed in every model unit they offer (1, 2 and 3 bedroom). While I understand that we are not staying at the Four Seasons, the resort in general and this unit in particular is starting to show its age a little bit. The original cabinets are in this unit (20+ years old) and they have been shoddily painted. Some of the hardware was painted, some wasnât. Most of the cabinet doors are loose on their hinges and donât shut properly.
The mattresses are all older inner-spring and the one on the bottom bunk was so bad, one of our group slept on the couch.
The bathrooms are also all original and are starting to show their age as well. The tub floor in the Master bath was cleaned thoroughly, but the jacuzzi jets definitely have something suspect growing in them.
Additionally, this unit does NOT have a keypad lock on the door. The locking mechanism and door handle were so old and difficult to use, it took 6 college-educated adults to figure out how to get the latch unlocked. Adding to this frustration was the fact that we got 2 keys for 6 PEOPLE. 6 people who all had different agendas and things they wanted to do, and no way to unlock the door without a key. Itâs 2022 and you have a beach-rental unit⊠itâs time to get an electronic lock.
The sliding door on the patio is another issue. The track is so mangled and warped, the screen part of the door couldnât be fully closed and the glass door itself needed to be shut rather forcefully in order to be locked.
Again, I understand that this is Rocky Point and we are more forgiving about certain quirks in the accommodations.
The Sonoran Sea gets good marks for being close to Changoâs, Banditos and to all of the new shops that have been added on the street in the last year or so. The staff are friendly at check-in, and they were helpful when we thought we had an issue with the clothes dryer.
Rocky Point will always have its charms as a sleepy beach-town, but, itâs time to step up your game a little bit.
Large unit for 2 families. They would only use 1 person for check in which was a hassle. Tried to have us pay $20 extra per teen per night. Resort grounds are very nice. Room could be cleaner. Furniture was not nice. Twin beds were very uncomfortable and there was not enough bedding for the bunk beds. Location was directly in front of the pool which was a lot of fun. Easy walk to restaurants.
