My husband and I spent 10 days here in December.
I'll start with the positives.
The concierge staff were ALL amazing (Marta, Ivan, and Xavier). They went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. They were the best.
The bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. Much appreciated!
Small things, but the Kleenex and TP was high quality. While that sounds trivial, my husband and I both got sick (bad cold or Covid) but soft Kleenex was a life saver!
The location and view over the river was wonderful. Right in the heart of Zona Romantica, but very quiet and serene.
Now, the not-so-positives...
Our first room (Hansel) was so dark! A lighter paint and better light fixtures could have easily fixed this. Personal grooming in the bathroom was next to impossible. After 4 days or so, I couldn't take it anymore, and when I saw the room across from us (Gretel) had become available, I asked if they could switch us (they kindly did). It was a little smaller, but much brighter, with wonderful natural light in the bathroom.
Having paid $40 US per day for an "upgrade", it left me wondering what kind of room we'd have had without the upgrade.
The upgrade also included breakfast, which was okay at best. Limited choice and sporadic service (though I know that they were going through some changes).
The pool area was pleasant (though tired and in need of repair) had only two loungers.
Overall? Okay. Know what room you'll have...some were even darker than Hansel!
