The staff was amazing at this property. They were kind and helpful. They worked together well as a team and worked hard to truly make us feel welcome. The food was so good!! The room was really bright and the view was phenomenal. I recommend taking the water taxi from Picton, but the drive was scenic. Thank you Punga Cove for a memorable stay.
As part of our Queen Charlotte walk we also stayed at Punga Cove. Compared to Furneaux Lodge and The Portage, Punga felt VERY dated back to the 70s and 80s and poorly maintained. We had an apartment and could hear every footstep of the people above is. For almost NZ$600 this is not good enough. On a positive note, the setting and food were wonderful.
Beautiful place to stay and relax in great comfort
What a beautiful place to stop over and spoil ourselves whilst we walked the Queen Charlotte Track. Accomodation was really high standard and the view from our balcony was incredible. We had a great fish dinner and breakfast and enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
Lovely resort in a beautiful location. We walked the Queen Charlotte track and it was great arriving after a long day of hiking finding our luggage waiting in the room and enjoy s nice dinner in the restaurant.
Our only complaint is that the hot tub - which we had looked forward to- really needed a change of water. Quite dirty actually!
We enjoyed out stay at the resort. Be aware that the A frame type chalets have limited head space, and the access is very steep. There are staff with ATV vehicles to help out when needed. The view from the restaurant is amazing and the food is great.
Stopped for one night while walking the QCT. The room was nice and quiet. I enjoyed the food as well. I highly recommend.
My only gripe is the lack of facial tissue in the room. Very odd for such a nice place.
Fabulous location, great for a stop over on the Queen Charlotte track, but the place seemed in need of some care and attention around the grounds. Food was good, and accommodation ok but for the cost it felt like it needed some TLC around the estate.
Great stay, enjoyed our little chalet especially the fantastic views. Staff were excellent and they provided a awesome packed lunch for our walk on the Queen Charlotte Track, great that you can check out from the top restaurant on your way out.
We loved Punga Cove Resort. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was great and the accomodation was eco-friendly and comfortable. Oh, and the free parking, was a boat on a mooring. The staff are only too happy to shuttle you to and from your boat on their tender.
A nice peaceful place to stay. Not much activities, so youâll need to plan your days. Great if you like reading. Walk to Furneaux is nice but quite long. No TVâs. No cellular. Limited internet (just two spots on the resort). Quite steep to travel around but it will get your fitness up. All in all a chilled out resort.
