Beautiful Home but with some Disappointments
I recently booked this home for a girls trip. It’s a beautiful home but it’s a little odd. I was disappointed that the listing shows that you can sleep 13 guests but there are only beds for 10 people (4 king beds and 2 twin beds). The remaining guests are expected to sleep on air mattresses. Additionally the home is clearly historic so that comes with some of the same oddities of older homes — no central AC (window units) and worst of all there was a mouse infestation. We saw several mice and we found mouse droppings in all of the drawers in the kitchen. There were also some small maintenance issues. One of the toilets broke and we had to keep a trashcan underneath it to catch the dripping side. Which was honestly leaking very fast and we had to regularly change the trashcan. Upon reporting this to the listing manager, we were lightly apologized to and then in their immediate response asked to provide them with a five star review…. It’s ultimately a beautiful home but I was quite disappointed in the end. When you spend an insane amount of money for just a weekend, you expect top quality.

Great stay!
Property was great, and the pool was as good as the photos. Communication with Scott was easy. Would stay again.

50th Wedding Anniversary Weekend
Heigh Torr Estate was an excellent choice for our family celebration weekend. The house is full of unique charm and history. The landscape is stunning. The room was spacious and the bed was absolutely luxurious. The property manager was prompt in responding to my questions and quickly solved any issues that came up, even showing up in person when needed. Close to many vineyards. Definitely would come back for another stay at this property!

Beautiful Property Nestled in Wine Country
I was genuinely impressed when I found the Heigh Torr Estate via VRBO this spring, but the pictures simply do not do this property justice. My family stayed here for a long weekend as we celebrated my cousin's vow renewal. The house and property are stunning and provide guests a feeling of serenity while also offering the comforts of a modern day home. I must also say that Scott, the Managing Director, was incredibly gracious and flexible, as we asked last minute to host a luncheon the day before the ceremony as well as to add another family of 3 that were able to partake in the festivities despite not being included in the original party count. Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay and make such wonderful memories over the holiday weekend!

Rural Farmhouse Retreat
We had a short stay in January 2023 but still had a wonderful time visiting Heigh-Torr Estate and the surrounding areas. The property manager was extremely responsive and accommodating – he genuinely wanted our family to love our stay and was very quick to answer questions or respond to any needs. The property is a lovely estate with so much historical character and charm. My children said walking into the house was like stepping back in time – we enjoyed walking through the many different rooms and admiring the décor and details. The space is very large and fairly spread out – the 5 bedrooms are not all near each other so this is something to keep in mind if your party has small children that need to be near parents. We did not need the 2 single beds so we only used the 4 king bedrooms – each room had a cozy little sitting area and the beds were so soft and comfortable – I felt like I was sleeping inside a cloud. The house is about 15 minutes outside of downtown Purcellville, VA and the drive is through rolling hills and farmland. We came in January so I can only imagine how lush and beautiful the farms and vineyards must be in other seasons. Some things we enjoyed in the surrounding area: Purcellville, VA – roller skating at Bush Tabernacle Rink and coffee at Doppio Bunny Coffee; Bluemont, VA – hiking to Bears Den Scenic Overlook and eating lunch at Dirt Farm Brewery; Hillsboro, VA – enjoying farm fresh food at Stoneybrook Farm and Market. Our family can’t wait to return in warmer weather to enjoy the scenery and the giant pool/hot tub on the property!

Beautiful Property
Beautiful property with places to roam outside and inside. The home was beautiful with lots of spaces to roam. The kids enjoyed hide and seek for hours. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and bedding for all. The kitchen could use some updates but we were able to cook everything we needed there. The home is in a rustic property so the wifi is spotty causing issues with the TV access. The owner was responsive and sent someone out to fix the wifi however it still did not work well. The house was quite cold when we arrived. The owner sent someone to inspect the heat and resolve the issue immediately with space heaters then sent someone out again the following day to get it working properly. All in all we enjoyed our stay

Tranquil Escape
The property at Heigh Torr Estates was nothing short of remarkable. Nestled at the base of the mountain, this property embodies all the fine details of an Estate property while offering the escape of a mountain side getaway. Every room in the home offers its unique character allowing you and your loved ones the ability to venture and escape your day to day. Scott was an amazing communicator, fielding any questions promptly. The family and I will definitely be back. We hosted 20 guests here at the home after spending a lovely afternoon at 8 Chains North Winery and celebrating my 50th Birthday! Cheers to Heigh Torr Estate!!!!
