Idyllic Farmhouse with Pools and Views

This property is situated in the easternmost village in Gozo called Qala, a village which boasts fabulous views over the sea as well as a long history of settlement since earliest times. This property provides the perfect setting and amenities for a comfortable and peaceful stay in both the summer and winter months, enjoying breathtaking views of the Gozo countryside and the beautiful Mediterranean sea. The property was converted into a modern accommodation but still features original walls and ceilings dating back to earlier periods. Guests also have the luxury of enjoying a swim in the spacious heated indoor pool with Jacuzzi (heated in the winter months)as well as in the large rectangular outdoor pool. Due to the property's location at the edge of a short alley, the outdoor pool and bbq area enjoys privacy and plenty of sun all day long. During the winter months one can still enjoy having a nice relaxing dip in the indoor pool or just chill in front of the fireplace on the sofa!

House is as described. It’s is large and beautiful and in a great location. Be sure to check out the town square in Qala as it has a few restaurants and a great atmosphere. I’d stay here again any time.

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit schönen klimatisierten SchlafrĂ€umen und genĂŒgend BĂ€dern fĂŒr uns neun. Die Menschen sind sehr gastfreundlich und aufgeschlossen, das Zentrum mit Bars und Restaurants fußlĂ€ufig gut zu erreichen. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt und kommen gerne wieder.

An sich alles super. Es ist ein wenig abgelegen, was aber auch seine Vorteile hat. Das Haus an sich ist super auch die beiden Pools. Die KĂŒche hat alles was man braucht, hatte aber anscheinend Mal einen Wasserschaden. Direkt hinter dem Haus ist eine Pferde Ranch was dazu fĂŒhren kann, das es ab und an Mal danach riecht. Hat uns persönlich aber nicht gestört. Alles in allem waren wir zufrieden und ziehen sogar in Betracht nochmal wiederzukommen. Leider hat der Vermieter spĂ€ter nicht mehr auf Nachrichten reagiert, was mich gestört hat. Darum hier nur 3 Sterne.

Nice house needing a little TLC

The house is in a very rural area of Gozo and has no direct access by car. To access the property you have to park on the road and then walk down an alley (approximately 400 feet) to the house. The kitchen urgently needs renovation, which we understand will be done shortly. Dishwasher and kitchen counters need to be replaced and also pots and pans. The linen and blankets also need updating and more care has to be paid to the size of the linens and blankets. A twin blanket on a queen bed does not work. Equally, a king fitted sheet on a queen sized bed does not work very well either. The outside pool was very nice and well maintained after the pool guy fixed the pump timer. The indoor pool is not heated in summer and is effectively unavailable. A clothes dryer was specified in the description on Home Away and we expected a tumble dryer. It was non-existent but the house is equipped with a clothes drying rack to put on the patio. The clothes did however dry very quickly in summer. Air Conditioning - It’s a hot year but we think it would be fair to explain that only the bedrooms have a/c not the living room. There are however three portable fans in the living room. The most disappointing fact about this property which is basically a lovely house with a few deficiencies is that it is located in close proximity to the Gozo Riding Stables. In hot weather, the pool area will occasionally smell like a barnyard depending on the wind direction and additionally, you will often be awakened very early by a choir of a rooster, a pea hen and a hungry donkey. The caretakers, Miriam and her sister did an excellent job presenting a clean property. The Owner was also great; good communication and very proactive with problems or questions.

Great holiday with family and friends

We stayed at Tal-Badessa for 7 days. Its a big villa and enough space for 12 people very comfortably (we are 7 adults and 5 kids), although the house has minor damages which the owner is aware of this was kept clean by their lovely and very helpful house keeper. Arnold, the owner was very responsive to questions we have and kept us informed regarding the location of the property etc. Although we had a slight confusion about transfers the owners have been helpful in sorting part of this for us and made us feel we are looked after and ensure our stay is going all fine. The housekeeper dropped by couple of times to ask if there is anything we need and also helped us arranged transportations to go around the islands and suggested boat trips, transfers from the villa to the airport and other little things that made our holiday smooth and enjoyable. The rooms are really spacious and clean as well as the bathrooms and kitchen. There are enough utensils for cooking and barbecue was clean for us to use. If there are suggestions they could probably do with updating some kitchen/cooking utensils but otherwise they are clean for use. We would like to thank Arnold and his team for making our holiday an unforgettable one. We enjoyed our stay and happy to recommend this villa and will stay again in the future given another chance to go back to Gozo.

Peace and tranquility

This farmhouse is in a fantastic location on the outskirts of Qala, with local bars/restaurants and a very well stocked village shop in walking distance. We visited in October so the outdoor pool was a bit cold but we made good use of the indoor pool instead (great to have the choice!) The facilities in the farmhouse were exceptional (even the wifi) and the decoration made it feel very homely. We had plenty of space (family of 3) indoors and outdoors to relax when we weren't out sightseeing on the Island. Unfortunately we didn't meet the owner but he did call to make sure we were settled in OK on the first night which was nice. Would definitely recommend without hesitation.
