Come and relax in our self-contained, fully renovated 2-story, 1 bedroom cottage on Quadra Island. With easy water access to Gowlland Harbour, a multitude of water activities awaits. Our property also connects to hiking and biking trails that wander through forests of towering Douglas firs. With stunning natural beauty all around, you’re sure to love the quaint charm of Quadra Island.
Quadra is a wonderful place to enjoy all types of water sports. Some popular activities include kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, and paddle boarding. From our shore you can do some intriguing beachcombing or launch your kayak and paddle out to Discovery Passage to see whales. Stunning vistas, mountain views & beautiful sunsets are some of the other attractions from our beachfront. For land lovers, the adjacent forest, rich in flora & fauna, provides excellent hiking and biking trails. Along the trails you will encounter awe inspiring, towering Douglas firs and a multitude of forest creatures.
There are 2 excellent grocery stores on the island plus a farmer’s market and various farm stands where you can purchase the freshest local ingredients to prepare your gourmet meals. Also nearby are great places to dine featuring fresh, locally caught seafood; delightful shops and a heritage pub. A short drive from our property are the freshwater lakes of Main Lake Provincial Park and the stunning & breathtaking beauty of Rebecca Spit Provincial Park. The Saturday Farmer’s Market in the summer features musicians and artisans along with a variety of local organic produce. Also on the island is a winery, art studios, and golfing. Or head down to the ferry landing to catch the whale watching boat. There's no shortage of activities to try when you stay with us.
As one of the original homesteads on the island, the yard contains established perennial gardens surrounded by old rock walls and a heritage orchard with apple & pear trees. If you are visiting in late summer, you will be able to pick fresh, organic walnuts, apples, pears, figs and grapes right on our property. The fall is bountiful for mushroom foraging including chanterelles and lobsters. Also on our property is a meditative pond, a perfect place to sit and be inspired by nature. There is also an attached carport to the cottage where you can park and keep all your toys dry.
We live on the property but afford our guests all the privacy they want. We are always available to answer your questions. So come and immerse yourself in the peacefulness and natural beauty of our paradise where you can unplug from everyday life and recharge in nature.
Although we are just a short, 12 minute ferry ride from Campbell River, you will feel worlds away from urban life in our tranquil oasis.
