My son and I actually stayed here twice. We stayed 2 nights when we flew into Queenstown and then took a road trip for a week and stayed one more night before we left. The first stay was pretty good. The room is quite small. It felt awkward sharing the shower with everyone there when it looked like a small closet right in the hallway. They also don't heat the hallways so besides our room it was freezing in there. When we came back at the end of the trip the front desk attendant gave us a free upgrade. That was super nice of him and the room was way better than the first one we booked. It had two beds and its own bathroom and patio deck. Overall this placed worked for us. It was close to all the shops but has limited parking. I would stay there again if we went back to New Zealand.

The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is close to town. It looks like a staircase is almost finished that will reduce yhe walking distance. The rug was stained and we had issues with the heat, but that wasnt enough to affecy our overall experience.

I had a great stay at Melbourne Lodge. Staff were very friendly and polite and the property was kept clean. Shared bathrooms maintained very well and kitchen was well equipped. Parking was available onsite and free, but was busy and not always easy to find a space (although this could be typical in Queenstown!) 5 mins walk into the main town which was great!

The Melbourne Lodge has an amazing guest lounge with kitchen facilities like microwave, toaster oven, elec. frying pan, dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots, etc. It is a great place where you can prepare food and dining tables to eat at. We had a king size bed and a great room, nice bathroom & we loved it. We walked into the city near the wharf every day & organised activities from there. Also, it is very reasonably priced, the best we could find in Queenstown. Staff are very helpful & friendly.

Decent budget hotel. Emails to attendant went unanswered over several days. Phone call seemed to be only way to communicate. On top of a large hill so be prepared to walk inclines to get to it. But generally walkable to amenities. Nice little patio area outside room. Laundry available.

Good hotel a little out of town.

Good comfortable hotel in a very location of Queenstown. It has a range of rooms depending on your requirements. Friendly staff. There are no toasters or microwaves in our room but there is a guest lounge with toaster, chairs etc.
