The guesthouse was very clean and our host were very kind and gave us useful information. The waffles were great ! The only reason it did not get top rating is that the breakfast could include fruits and a bit of proteins (for example, cheese).
Awesome experience and stay at Unnur and Ingi's! They are both lovely and very helpful with any information you may need about sightseeing, local culture and nationwide traditions. Their house is huge and very pleasant, you get a feeling of well-being as soon as you walk through its door. I was delighted to get to know more about the descendants of Vikings and their country :)
You will also be offered waffles and coffee in the morning, which is adorable.
I highly recommend this guesthouse and, as for me, I won't hesitate to stay at theirs again if I happen to pass by.
Everything is brand new and the decoration is really cool. The owners are the nicest persons!! I just had a little issue with the shower not being as warm as i would have liked (i like it really warm) and also no heater in the room. But besides that, everything was perfect, highly recommanded.
Very nice owner and though breakfast isnât provided, they serve freshly made wafers and coffee/ tea in the morning. The room is big and comfortable and the property is well appointed to see the Aurora. We could see some Icelandic horses next to the property.
A lovely well kept place to stay. Our hosts were wonderful and offered a google map with good places to stop and visit. The amenities of shared kitchen and main eating area were very nice. We highly recommend this accommodation.
Spent one night at Loaâs Nest. Everything was so clean! The waffles and coffee in the morning were such a nice treat to start our day. The hostel hosts and staff were so so kind. Would highly recommend! :)
We loved our stay at Loaâs Nest! Only a short drive from the Golden Circle, this place was a great spot to escape the tourists and see more of the quiet Icelandic countryside. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Staff were lovely, greeting us with homemade waffles for breakfast in the morning. This was our first stop on our ring road tour and we would highly recommend to anyone passing through.
Great stopover! Well equipped kitchen to cook your own food and convivial dining room to meet other guests. Surprise bonus - the owner comes in to cook waffles for breakfast.
Reasonable place overall. The hosts were kind and communicated well. Even though there wasnât an on-site office, we had an issue in our room and they showed up within 5 minutes of reaching out about it. Was a great location for seeing the northern lights, we actually drove down the road a mile or two and sat by a waterfall and watched it. The morning breakfast was great. Overall, the setup is very basic, but it was a good value. We would stay again.
We had an awesome stay! My pictures look like itâs in the middle of nowhere. Very kind hosts- even gave us tips on how to check the roads for our travel. We made new friends as we eat together. Yummy waffles and homemade jam.
I have stayed in 20+ hotels in Iceland. This guesthouse is a shining beacon above every place I have stayed in Iceland, Scotland, England and Germany. I liked this guesthouse so much, that I changed my business plans so I could stay an extra night. I couldnât bring myself to stay in another generic hotel further North in the city. Only a couple of miles off the main highway, itâs worth the journey. The peace of the location allowed me to sleep calmly for the first time in days. The owners are truly delightful human beings and they give the feeling of coming home to family after a hard days trekking across the countryside
It was a nice clean room. Do not pay extra for a kitchen. Their ad is misleading and makes you pay more if you want a kitchen, but it's a communal kitchen- everyone has access, not your own personal kitchen as they make it out to be, so save your money and book the basic room.
That was the best place we stayed in Iceland - clean, comfortable, beautifully designed, seems like new, extremely friendly owners, who offer coffee/tea and freshly baked waffles on breakfast! there is a fully equipped kitchen you can use - that comes extremely useful! Thank you, Unnur!
