The location on the North end of the boardwalk is great since the beach is not as crowded. The property is showing it's age a little but is very well maintained and very clean. Great friendly and extremely helpful staff. Room was quiet. Good value.

The room was dirty. Floor was not swept and someone else's sock was under the dresser. A nice older woman came up and swept for us. Bathroom corners were dirty and a hair on the wall When I asked for extra pillows they brought them right up. A/c kept turning off. Convenient location - right on the beach and boardwalk, free parking. Close to bike rentals and Gordon's Pond Trail.

Stayed here for the past five summers. Generally pretty clean and comfortable. This time the cleanliness was not up to par as the sink was never cleaned and was dirty. Also this was the first time I ever had an issue with noise. Unfortunately I could hear every word the people in the next room were saying. I had to turn up volume on tv just to drown them out. Never had that issue in previous years so maybe it was just a bad room

Liked access to beach and boardwalk Didn’t appreciate little or no effort to accommodate our early arrival to gedour 2 rooms clean. Never called us with a status.esde Hotel parking inadequate. Room cleaners need to be trained in proper cleaning methods . Making the beds and providing clean towels doesn’t address sandy floors and sand in the chest of drawers. You can contact me if you like. These are a few differences we have seen over our previous stays.

Pros: easy access to beach, the room we stayed in was spacious, good water pressure in shower, decent beds, quite side of the boardwalk. Coffee machine in lobby was very convenient. Cons: The room we got smelled like marijuana, when all things considered it wasn't the worst but not the best smell to walk into. The floors looked like they just had been mopped with dirty water. The staff just cleaned our bathroom and left fresh towels daily and took trash but that was it. The sand we brought into the room was never swept or cleaned and our beds were never made. The staff was nice enough to clean when we asked, but we shouldn't have to. There is no pool, for some reason I thought there was one. Most of the rooms are ocean view, and the ocean front rooms are smaller. The parking spaces are tight. Overall we just stayed a weekend with our 2 kids and it was enough. We did miss not having a pool. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our stay for the most part. But I will not stay here again unless it's a great deal. Rooms are dated and thankfully we just had 1 night of nosey roudy neighbors. The walls are thin and can hear the kids nextdoor screaming. If you are looking for easy access to the beach this place is it. But really no other thrills.

First time in Delaware and this is th perfect property. There is a park across the street for kids and you can stop out the door onto the boardwalk. Staff was very welcoming.

Outdated hotel with few amenities. Great location on boardwalk so if you don’t care about frills, then this is the place for you! Our room was clean but had outdated furnishings, was next to the elevator with lots of noise, and AC unit sounded like a large plane taking off when it turned on.

Liked the location. When we checked in our bed was broken ( the bed slats were broken and lying on the floor.) Once fixed the bed was comfortable. There was someone’s hair in our shower. There’s no restaurant or any kind of breakfast served. Probably won’t stay here again.

When we went to check-in at 3:55 (check-in time at 4) one of the receptionists told us our room wasn’t ready but that they would call us when it was, so we sat on a nearby couch to wait. At 4:40 I asked the other receptionist how much longer it would be and she said our room had been ready for awhile, even though they had neglected to let us know. The room was nice and it had great access to the beach and was the perfect distance from the shops at the boardwalk. There were not enough parking spots for all of the guests and when there was parking parking spots open they were very tight and took several corrections to get out of without hitting other cars or poles. Overall the stay was decent.

The hotel clearly understands that people need a place to change into -- and out of -- bathing suits before (and after) they check in. The bathroom was clean, had a shower stall (and towels, too!) and a changing room. Very helpful. The sleeping room was comfortable; one bed was a little squeaky.

I liked the location and proximity to the boardwalk. Straight out to the boardwalk however no breakfast, coffee machine was broke and my bf said he saw white stuff on the beans in the machine (mold). Parking was so limited. If you go just make sure you get in before it gets too late or all the other hotel guests will take up the small spaces with their huge trucks. One truck took up three spaces and forced us to pay for parking the first night.

I booked the Henlopen Hotel through a coworker’s recommendation. The location is right on the beach and had convenient parking. When we got to the room there was only 1 towel and the toilet seat was broken off the toilet completely. I figured for the location we can just ask for more towels and move on. On the morning of check out, we had THREE housekeepers walk into our room without knocking/announcing themselves. Thankfully we had the safety lock on the door: My boyfriend and I were doing the horizontal tango when this happened so I was absolutely mortified that they walked in so many times. It made the morning very uncomfortable and I don’t think I’ll be returning.
