We stayed for 1 week.
We stayed for 1 week. Luckily weather was good for time of year.Host was very welcoming and left a nice welcome gift. Wish we had thought to buy more of her eggs.Nice cottage, soon heated up when it got chilly. Good little village. Sadly didn't try the pub but believe it to be good.So quiet and peaceful. Lots to see in areas nearby.Would love to visit again and hope to next year.I recommend to you. Our dog loved the garden at the rear. Plenty of room for her to run around in safe and secure.

Perfect little cottage for a quiet getaway.
Perfect little cottage for a quiet getaway. My fiance and me were looking for somewhere to unwind from our very hectic lives, and we found it at Tom's Cottage. The cottage itself is extremely welcoming - with an open fire, which was very handy because we were there in February. It's also well equipped with just about everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. The village in which it's located is lovely and serene. The people are very friendly. And the surrounding area is stunningly beautiful. Plus, it's very conveniently located near a lot of charming seaside towns and villages, and the Lake District. The only 'drawback" is that the nearest shop is miles away. But, if you prepare for that before arriving it isn't really a problem. Elaine - the host - is very warm, friendly, and chatty, and was happy to offer information when asked. Plus she makes a mean fairy cake. A word of warning - if you're the type of person who is constantly glued to their phone you'll struggle here, because service is terrible. For us, though, that was a bonus. We'll definitely be back.
