Gilling west is a charming village just outside the scenic market town of Richmond. peace and tranquility all around with friendly locals.

Beautifully renovated old property with character and very comfortable. I didn't realise it was on 3 floors with the bathroom/shower room down a flight of stairs.

Lovely Easter break at Gilling West

This beautiful cottage has been renovated to the very best standard. A wonderfully contemporary finish whilst retaining a lovely old cottage feel, with thick walls and characterful wood beams, including a vaulted loft conversion where the bedroom is. The prooerrty is very well appointed, with 2 large smart TVs (one in lounge, one in bedroom) and good wi-fi. Whilst there is parking to the rear of the cottage, we didn’t use it as access is through a gate then very narrow passage, not ideal in the dark. We noted that that property details suggested that there is a dishwasher, although there isn’t-not a problem for us or for a short stay, but might be useful for longer holidays. Perhaps a radio in the kitchen would be useful, and a shaver point in the bathroom, but overall, this property is lovely and highly recommended. The Angel pub is next door, serves good food, also the White Swan, just a couple of hundred yards away, having a Spanish influence. We ate in both and would highly recommend. For dog owners, there is a lovely, east walk along the river-no need to take the car. We did visit lovely Richmond and Leyburn, being familiar with the area anyway, the countryside is lovely, with lots to see and do. We hope to cone back to The Curtain at Gilling West soon.

Beautiful Cottage

We've visited Gilling West before and love the area. The cottage was just perfect, beautifully clean and well equipped. The owner, Sarah met us on arrival and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

A Lovely Getaway

We had a lovely 3 night stay in this beautiful cottage. It was beautifully clean and a lovely balance between modern and traditional. All the facilities were of the highest standard and the view from the upstairs bedroom was a lovely surprise. Would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a relaxing break!
