We love Echo Bluff State Park! We visit several times a year. I was disappointed with this trip because the kitchen wasn’t complete stocked with utensils, and the cabin had not been cleaned thoroughly. Every window sill was full of dead lady bugs and flies and you could tell the property had not been cleaned in quite some time.

I've been staying at Echo Bluff for years, always in January or February. It's always been wonderful. We live about an hour away. During the spring, summer and fall we'll pack a picnic, drive up for the day and hike. It's always a good time. And the staff is excellent, always friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the restaurant. The food is always good but the menu is limited. I wish there was more variety. However, this doesn't keep me from coming back. I' m already planing my trip for next year!

Our visit for Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful. Our room in the lodge was very large with a king size bed, balcony, large bathroom, micro wave and refrigerator. The dinner was fixed price and delicious for the holiday. After that visit, we will return. The employees were very nice and helpful. They really were friendly.

Resort room

The staff was very limited especially in the only dining room. The maintenance person had to fill in and wait in tables. The food was not good. We’ve stayed in the cabins before and cooked our own food. The resort has always had problems with a shortage of staff. We love this place…scenery is amazing. The toiletries were very small. The bars of soap were so small. See picture below.

If you want a quiet winter retreat, this is ideal. The food at the restaurant was delicious and portions were huge. It is not easy to get to, but this brand new state park is still and peaceful in winter. I can see that summer would be very different, as the slow and shallow creek would be teeming with children.
