Only saw one outdoor light at the edge of parking lot. No other businesses around so very dark at night. It is dog friendly for our dog and the only grass for dogs was behind the building which looked lit at night but no lights on the sides or front of building. Felt unsafe walking dog. Used the church property near parking lot. Inside furniture old and scratched, no bedbug covering on mattress or boxsprings, cigarette butts all over parking lot with some trash, at entrance of building during daylight hours a man with only pajama pants on, no shirt, stood leaning into car talking with people who did not belong at hotel. Breakfast was no big deal, all 3 cereal machines contained very stale Cheerios, coffee and oj were fine. Something missing from room doorframes, there was 1/2 to 1 inch space when room door was closed where light and sound from room was very obvious. This hotel needs lots of help. Too costly for what it is. Will not stay here again.

The rooms were very clean but did need a paint refresh. Ive stayed here before and liked it so returned. However, this time I found a musty oder and after 2 days stay the room still wasnt cleaned. We returned too late to ask Monday night, as we were leaving in the morning. We booked a Friday to Tuesday and had to ask for towels on the Monday night. Not sure I would stay a 3rd time. Staff are very friendly and accommodating if asked. The pool was lovely and clean. Breakfast was alright would suggest having water for an optional drink, and hard boiled eggs. The waffle machine is always a big hit.

Not a FULL CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST!!! I wasnt exactly expecting a 5 star breakfast. What was offered Waffles, limited cereal. Plain bagel and cereal bars ... ABSOLUTELY NO CREAM FOR COFFEE !! And I had to keep going to checkin for my card to be activated. Fresh linen was also limited. My son was transitioning to a college in this area . Coming from Florida it was a different experience in hospitality.

"Fresh" towels were damp, previous residents used shampoos and soap left in shower, room was muggy, shower was unclean and had bugs in it, very limited breakfast food but food was okay. Will not be staying here again.

I've never complained about a hotel before, but this was a very poor experience. The hotel room had a lot of flies, stained carpet, and damaged furniture. The shower was moldy, and there was no hot water. Even for a continental breakfast, the options were very limited.

Breakfast bar was a joke. Only had toast and peanut butter. Cereal all the same kind. No muffins or danish. Only had waffles. No eggs or other food to offer. Bsthroom tiny. shower curtain did not go into tub. Had water all over floor. Room look dingy

To start with, I had a hard time finding the place. The sign to turn at was barely visible. Exterior didn’t look like the picture online. Looked unkept. I was rudely spoken to at front desk. NO ELEVATOR. Had to pull luggage up stairs. I used the do not disturb sign, removed it when I left for the day yet no one ever entered the room to clean in 4 days. I am glad I brought Clorox wipes as my toilet seat was soiled. Had to clean it. I won’t be staying there again or recommending it

upon arrival, entire carpet was wet - I was told the A/C had been set too high. the toilet wouldn't flush, PAPER only, they offered me a plunger that didn't work. they weren't too concerned with my issues. Claimed they didn't have another room to move me to. horrible customer service.

Upon arrival, the air conditioning in part of the suite we booked wasn’t working. They did give a smaller room but the light over sink wasn’t working. We told this to desk staff, which he insisted we go with him to put new bulb in. This did not fix the problem. The continental breakfast was poorly stocked. Waffles was pretty much the only option daily. This was not mixed well-super lumpy and runny. The coffee creamer was out. There’s a large grocery store just down the road but they failed to have initiative to go and get some Instead. They put a sign out of order. We were surprised at how sound proof the room was- thumbs up for that. Bathroom faucet was very loose. When we checked out, desk staff couldn’t provide receipt to show we got a discount for the smaller room. hence we had to leave without finding out for sure how much they charged us until we returned home. Would not recommend this hotel. Sorry

The room was musty, mildew and every thing was damp, shower curtain was too small for the shower and cleanliness could have been much better, cobwebs around curtains which I cleaned off. We had a dog and there were ants all over his food and in my suitcase when I arrived at my home. I would not recommend this place.

Iif your looking to stay a night or two on a budget good place to stay. We didn’t spend much time at the hotel only to sleep. Bed was comfortable. We got a free upgrade but also stayed on a Sunday Monday night. Was not busy. The room was spacious. They allow pets. Many in the area does not. We had a problem with the AC. It worked some. But not very well. Called to have it fixed . Attendent at the desk came to look at it. Was still humid. They did offer tus another room. We declined. It was also very hot out. We were on the second floor. Only stairs no lift. Breakfast was just a standard waffles and pre prepared foods. We did have some car trouble as we were checking out. They let us stay an hour after check out in the room with the dof. And my husband and the dog waited another 3.5 hours in the lobby with our dog. Worked out okay. I was worried after reading some of the comments listed. The floor was NOT sticky the rooms did not stink. Staff was friendly. All this expected in a standard hotel in Bay City.

This Americinn is a disappointment

Over the years I have stayed at a few Americinns. They have declined in the past 10 years or so. This one was in the worst condition of any I have stayed at, however, if your expectation is for a very basic low budget hotel then it might be OK. The door to the room would not close properly. It had to have the deadbolt engaged or the door would open. The roof was in poor condition, the pool was closed, the breakfast was very basic. The AC worked well and the location is convenient to the highway. In summary this hotel needs a significant total renovation.

Perfectly acceptable, mid grade chain hotel, with staff that clearly care to make it a clean and overall pleasant experience. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean, and the price was right. Totally unassuming unpretentious area without very much immediately nearby, but it was totally fine. Only negative critique was that the breakfast spread was probably the worst I’ve ever seen at any hotel. There was practically nothing to eat, and certainly nothing from my health perspective, other than an orange.
