Tod at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. He made sure the lobby was spotless (salt really is messy). The popcorn in the lobby was fresh. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool would have been nice if there had not been a gaggle of rowdy teenage boys destroying the area.

The room was in good condition, and the staff member who checked us in at 3:00 pm was friendly, professional, and very helpful. However, when we arrived at 1:00 pm, the experience was quite different. The staff member at the desk seemed irritated and took her time coming to assist us. She did greet us and asked how she could help, but when we mentioned our reservation, she simply stated that check‑in wasn’t until 3:00 pm. She checked the system and said she could check us in early for an additional $25 fee. While I understand this may be their policy, the way it was communicated felt unwelcoming. We declined and returned at 3:00 pm, where the afternoon staff was much more pleasant and professional. Overall, the stay was fine, but I would recommend not arriving early if you expect a warm welcome.

The pool and hot tub were great. We loved the charming vibe, and the artwork throughout the hotel. It would have been great to have more than 5 channels on the TV. Also, our room had a pretty strange smell. Luckily the window opened so we could get some fresh air.

Not what we hoped for.

Carpet was filthy! Thank goodness I brought slippers but it made me wonder about the overall cleanliness of the room. The overwhelming smell of febreeze should have been a deciding factor. Room was next door to the breakfast room and breakfast starts very early! Needless to say we were up very early on our vacation day away.
