4/10 Poor

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE.
The budget-priced Rede Andrade Barra redefines "you get what you pay for."
Let me start with what's good about it:
-LOCATION: It faces one of the most popular beaches in Salvador, in a neighborhood that is roughly the equivalent of Ipanema.
-BREAKFAST: Every morning there is a free, plentiful, typically Brazilian breakfast spread.
-GYM: The fitness room is well-stocked enough for you to get a decent workout.
-FRONT-DESK STAFF: Mostly efficient and sincere. It's not their fault that the place is such a mess. They do a lot of apologizing.
Because it's cheap, Rede Andrade Barra was packed during my eight-day stay (which started on the last day of Carnaval 2025). But it's clearly gone to seed. Among the charms I encountered:
-The advertised WiFi didn't work. Sometimes it flickered on weakly for a minute. If you have business to do (or even need WiFi in order to call Ubers and such), you'll be furious. I was.
-One of the two client elevators was out of order. The other moved so agonizingly slowly (the cleaning staff uses it but shouldn't) that I and a lot of other guests were reduced to taking the stairs in order to avoid five-minute rides. And I was on the 11th floor.
-Graying, overwashed sheets with holes in them. No fitted sheets. Frayed towels.
-The soap dish in my shower was falling out of the wall.
-The hallways are un-air-conditioned and hotter than hell.
-The place looks dirty and run-down.
Need I say more?
