Beautiful Victorian Unit with Private Patio, BBQ Close to DT, Convention Center

Located in a Historic District on the Slope above Downtown San Diego, this highly upgraded 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom completely private unit within a beautiful and historically designated Queen Ann Victorian building. No expense was spared in the design of this highly upgraded home which accommodates up to 2 guests. The living area features high ceilings, gorgeous hardwood floors, LED smart TV, dining table and chairs framed by multiple windows. The kitchen is beautifully designed with granite counters, accent cabinet lights, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator and everything you will need to cook complete meals during your stay with us. The bathroom has high ceilings and is equipped with plenty of towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer are all provided. The bedroom features a Queen bed, mirrored closet wardrobe doors, LED Smart TV, ceiling fan and air conditioners. The bed has memory foam mattress. Both TV’s have streaming capability. This unit also features a private patio with Patio Table, Umbrella and chairs as well as a barbecue grill. Additional items provided to our guests include beach chairs, beach towels, a boogie board, lighted make-up mirror, an iron and ironing board and a high chair for the little ones. The unit is beautifully decorated with furniture and drapes of modern classic design. The property is located 5 minutes driving distance to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp district, Ball Park, Coronado Island, the Airport, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Freeway access is located around the corner and bus stop transits to and from downtown are located within a block of the property and local beaches are within easy driving distance. Some of Golden Hill’s most popular spots such as the Turf Club, Panchitas Bakery, Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Luigi's Pizza and Golden Hill Park are within walking distance. Additional features in the common areas include a Barbecue Grill, Gazebo with table and chairs and a Fire Pit with wood provided. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and city views from the patio table and chairs provided on the front porch. Grill your favorite foods on a gourmet barbecue and relax with dinner under a lighted Gazebo. We enjoyed this VRBO. We have stayed at many rentals and this one was among the nicer ones. Very clean, had everything we needed. Extremely close to downtown. A little noisy in the evenings, but not unbearable.

Clean, well-located to downtown SD

Great value, clean apartment walking distance from Gas Lamp and Petco, which we loved. Parking on street was no problem. Only downside was abundance of trash, tent city and obviously mentally ill people wandering all over Market St morning-noon-nighttime. We took Ubers home after dark.

Great place to stay in San Diego

We enjoyed our stay. The property was quiet and very well kept. It's a medium-long walk to a lot of wonderful sights. John was gracious and responsive throughout our stay. We made several meals on site but we were also close to great dining. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, clean and comfy

Had a nice stay here, location was close to everything we wanted to do. Made a complete thanksgiving dinner for the fam and served outside. We were missing a couple of pot holders, a small mixing bowl and a couple of storage containers but otherwise worked out great. I would stay here again.

Beautiful apartment in San diego

This property was very well appointed, with nice furniture and everything needed for cooking, etc. the only problem was the bedroom carpet needed cleaning. When we reported this to the owner he was very responsive and offered to have it cleaned. We decided we did not want to wait for the drying time, so he offered a reduction in the rental fee, which we accepted.

Great location! Close to downtown and Gaslamp District. Nice area to walk. Having a coffee pot in the unit definitely helps. Let’s talk parking
..there is availability directly in front of the property HOWEVER, I strongly suggest parking further up the road. We stopped by to drop off our luggage then drove to Ralph’s down the road. We went back to drop off groceries and unpack. The two times in a row we parked in front within the first two hours of our arrival, we have 4 separate quarter sized “pellet” holes in the windshield. During the 5 night stay, we noticed two other car windshields with the same quarter sized holes. Obviously, this isn’t the fault of the landlord and the reason I selected 4 out of 5 stars.

GRANDMA VISITS WITH 2.5 YEAR OLD GRANDSON

My toddler grandson and I travelled from Florida to visit the San Diego Zoo for a few days and chose Sherman Heights to stay. It was a great location for the Zoo as well as a park close to the water that we drove to one afternoon. The place is very well maintained and the owner was very attentive to our needs. It appears in this neighborhood, many homes are being renovated and upgraded. There are a couple fast food places to walk too, but if going to a restaurant, I feel a car is needed. The parking is on the street but I never had a hard time finding a place close to park. There is a wall unit air conditioner in the bedroom which makes it comfortable to sleep at night if hot which we only used one evening. The other evenings we opened a window and the cool ocean breeze was enough to cool things down inside. The apartment has two TV's and a fully equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove and microwave. There were even some plastic bowls and cups for my grandson. Everything was neat and clean on our arrival. We were very comfortable during our stay!!

Nice Victorian-style Home

We were pleased with this unit. The property manager was very responsive when upon check-in one of the televisions was not working. We thought he would simply try to repair it, but instead he replace the television completely! Who does that? We were very impressed. If you don't have a vehicle, then you need to be prepared to either take transit or walk. Fortunately, my husband and I are huge walkers, so it wasn't a problem for us, but the downtown core is around Market & 6th Streets. This suite is located on Market & 22nd Streets, so you have a bit of hike uphill from downtown at the end of your day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely re-book in future.

Easy access to freeways.

The place was good, clean well furnished, internet and tv service was intermittent. Access to freeways was great but would have liked more walkable breakfast, lunch , dinner or coffee places and shops . The neighborhood was nice and safe .

Outstanding Accommodations for Fun or Work

The very best part of our 2 1/2 month stay at this lovely condo in San Diego was definately the wonderful people who lovingly care for this property. John, his lovely wife, & the crew that work for them are professional, courteous, caring, and, most of all, the friendlest group of people you can possibly meet. Their ability to handle an unforeseen leak was outstanding. Our needs were always addressed and handled even though they were under a personal situation of their own. Everyone should have the opportunity to meet people like the crew who keep this charming property in Sherman Heights comfortable and available for our travel needs.

Strategic location

Great view of downtown. Convenient access to Trolley, Cesar Chavez Park, and excellent restaurants such as Birierria El Rey. Comfortable space. Hosts run a tight ship. This was my 6th extended stay at a VRBO in SD and my favorite for all-around location, price, and comfort.
