The Neighborhood:
Little Italy is a vibrant neighborhood known for its rich history, charming atmosphere, and numerous attractions. Here are some key points of interest:
Piazza della Famiglia: This European-style piazza serves as the heart of Little Italy, featuring a beautiful, tiled fountain and surrounded by restaurants and cafes. It's a popular spot for dining and community events.
India Street: Known for its array of Italian restaurants, bakeries, and shops, India Street is the main thoroughfare through Little Italy where you can find authentic Italian cuisine and imported goods.
These attractions make Little Italy not just a place to enjoy great Italian food, but also a lively area to explore San Diegoâs culture and history.
Getting Around:
Leave the car behind! Our loft is just a 10-minute walk from the Santa Fe Depot, offering access to trolley lines and commuter trains. Whether it's exploring UC San Diego or heading downtown, public transit is readily available. This unit does NOT come with a parking spot. For those driving, there is street parking available. Please note that parking may be difficult to find at times, due to the nature of the busy city area.
Thereâs also an overnight parking lot on the corner of Ash St and Kettner Blvd that charges $20 for 12 hours or $35 for 24 hours, which we recommend.
đŠ Urban Sound â Lively downtown area; not ideal if you want complete quiet
đż Patio Maintenance â Gardeners visit weekly

PROS: Terrific, cozy unit. Very clean. Bed was SUPER comfortable. Location was prime time! And the host was extremely communicative and helpful with suggestions at local restaurants. Very walkable part of San Diego. The host gets 10 stars!CONS: I know the VRBO description said it was an urban setting and "vibrant" - but it was LOUD. When people walked by the unit, it literally sounded like they were in the living room. It was almost like a window was open because the sound just came right in. And I live in a city on the east coast so I understand vibrant city noise. Also, not the fault of the host - but the first night the non-metro train (I think it's Amtrak) blew it's horn ALL NIGHT LONG - fortunately it wasn't that bad on our second night. So if you are staying here, bring some earplugs (because the white noise machine provided can't cover the outside noise). But at least the super comfy bed will help you doze off.
Such a delightful stay! This VRBO was very clean and is a perfect blend of charm and comfort. The host was a pleasure to communicate with and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The living space was beautifully designed and had everything we needed. The outdoor area is great for morning coffee or for a breath of fresh air. Conveniently located walking distance from many great shops, restaurants and attractions, I couldnât have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended!
I stayed here for a conference and it was a great location. Clean and suitable for our needs. The location is truly perfect. The spot is street level, and there is a fair amount of walking traffic outside with some noise but not bad. When we were there the small windows on the front door had no coverings which made it possible for folks to look in which was a bit disconcerting. The host was very diligent in trying to help us with the internet upload speed which unfortunately never was quite good enough for Zoom. Being there for business this was a bit of a hurdle. But I say this for two purposes, a renter keeping that in mind to ask if you need it and to stress that John was very clearly doing everything he could to fix it, albeit limited o what can be accomplished from his side of things with us already in the place. If, above all else, you want to be a minute walk away from the best restaurants in little Italy, this is it.
The location of our stay was perfect, right in the heart of Little Italy and walkable to everything. Hosts were very communicative and willing to help with anything. The loft is right in the corner so you can hear all the street noise (people talking/crosswalk noise) and would recommend to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper
Great spot for business, leisure travel near Little Italy, Short train ride to Convention Hotels
If you are attending a conference and want a quiet space for the evenings try this loft. Two minute walk from all the restaurants and shops of Little Italy. Two minute walk to the trolley green line and its two quick stops to the convention hotels & Seaport Village. Five minute walk to the water walking trail and seafood restaurants and shops. Close to Gas Lamp District too. Take the trolley and visit Old Town, Petco and the other excellent neighborhoods in San Diego. Nice loft with all that is needed for your visit. Note you have to walk some steps to get to the loft bed and store your clothes. Not a big deal, but something to be mindful of. Enjoy San Diego...
