We arrived well past check in time. The line to check in was out the door. We were told our room was ready. We went to our room and found bags of the previous stays garbage scattered around the room, trash all over the floor, diarrhea spray around toilet, a fetid smell in the room, ripped and filthy rugs, etc. We realize that Motel 6 is economy lodging and adjust our expectations accordingly. However, we draw the line at blatantly unsanitary conditions. We complained and left after Benjamen, the manager, promised a refund. Later on, both the Motel and Travelocity refused to refund our payment.

Bed was not made on Friday. Housekeeper didn’t knock and proceeded to come into the room in the morning. However I had the latch on. When I got up to unlatch the door, housekeeper did not acknowledge he can come in. Instead he quickly turned the corner with the cart in tow. He did see me but waved his hand. I don’t believe he spoke English. In the afternoon, another housekeeper came by, saw me through the window and didn’t bother coming in. So I never got fresh line or towels. This is the first time it’s happened at this motel. I’ve used them 3 times before with 0 issues. Also the bed needs to be replaced as it’s past its wear and tear. I forgot to mention, on my check in, I reserved a nonsmoking room. Even though the room had a no smoking sticker, the room stunk from heavy cigarette smoke. The smell hits you before you even opened the door. I was then given the adjoining room, which was ok.
